It seems that GBP wants to pursue a rematch with Cotto. At this point in time do you think a rematch is warranted. Will Cotto gain anything should he beat Mosley again? Unless he wins by KO I don't think so. People will say Mosley was even older than their initial encounter. So could this mean that Cotto-DLH wont be made? Or that Cotto-PBF will be pushed back still (not that it was ever in any talk of happening).

    Do we need a rematch?

Seems to be alot better then a mayweather de la hoya rematch...

so why not go for it. maybe if we are lucky they will cancle mayweather/de la hoya II and replace it with cotto/mosley II

Mosley fans have been calling for a rematch ever since the scorecards were announced but you have to look at this fight realistically. Even if a rematch were to occur chances are that Cotto probably wins it much more decisively simply because Shane is getting prety long in the tooth now.

You're ****in' rights I want to see a rematch. I had Cotto winning but alot of poeple had Mosley winning. A draw would have been fair too in my opinion.

Assuming that Mayweather is going to continue on his current path of aversion, then I don't see a big problem with it. It was indeed a close fight, but I am confident that Cotto will make it decisive the next time around.

As long as it does not interfere with a Mayweather/Cotto match, then it's fine. Assuming he does this sometime in September-November, then it wouldn't, because there is no way that Mayweather fights that soon after September 20.

Why would you rather see a rematch of a one-sided fight than of a fight that was without doubt a close contest? I scored Mosley-Cotto a draw but would have had no problem with a close win for either fighter. Cotto-Malignaggi proved Paulie had real guts and determination, but Cotto was never in danger of losing that fight.

Furthermore, if one assumes that Cotto gets past Margarito, then there aren't all that many meaningful fights left for him at welterweight. At least, there are not until younger fighters like Andre Berto are given some more time to develop. Other than the huge matchup with Mayweather and a reasonable rematch with Mosley, the only significant bout with another 147 pound fighter seems to be Joshua Clottey. That, of course, depends on his getting past Zab Judah on August 2.

This is assuming that Cotto gets past Margarito what does GBP do when Margarito wins the fight?

I would much rather see Mosley find a winnable retirement fight and let Cotto move on to the rest of the Welterweights.

I honestly think GBP are trying to secure the last few paydays for Shane & Oscar before they leave the sport.

I had Cotto clearly winning the fight simply because he controlled the pace and landed the more significant shots. Definitely a close fight, but Cotto indeed got the "W".

In a rematch, I see Cotto beating him more convincingly. Shane ain't getting any younger.
