Golden Snaggle Tooth Promotions has been talking about a Mayweather-Hatton rematch though.

I still remain skeptical though about Mayweather's willingness to fight in the U.K. I wonder (and hope) if he's just using this tha Hatton rematch as leverage if and when negotiations for a Cotto fight come up.

Assuming Cotto is not too busted up from the Margarito fight, and he wins, maybe the Cotto-Mosley rematch takes place in early December, which would make it a 4 or 4 and a half months after the Margarito fight.

We're probably be more likely to see De La Hoya-J.C. Chavez Jr.

    That would be a sell.

I think Mosley has other things to worry bout instead of thinking of a possible Cotto rematch. However I would love to see the rematch though.......

In court papers filed in San Francisco, convicted steroid dealer Victor Conte and Shane Mosley's former trainer Deryl Hudson both testified that Shane Mosley was on illegal perfomance-enhancing steroids when he beat Oscar De La Hoya in 2003. Mosley has admitted being on the juice but thought he was injecting legal supplements. Mosley then sued Conte for defamation. As part of court submissions in that lawsuit, both Hudson and Conte testified that they saw Mosley take the drug EPO after he was told about the benefits and effects of steroids. source: associated press

The first fight was great and it was close, I had it 115-114 Cotto. And even though it's a better idea then Mayweather-De La Hoya 2, I don't see the point in it. I love Shane, and he can compete within the Top of the WW for a few more fights but I wish he would fight a couple top 10 guys and then retire. But of course you can't take the need to fight out of some of these guys, also I think Shane would make an amazing trainer.

Easy win for Oscar, but what if Margo beats Cotto impressively what are your thoughts then. Or you still think Chavez is a more meaningful fight?

Is Mayweather Promotions part of Golden Snaggle Tooth Promotions? I think they're an affiliate or subsidiary or something.

Regardless, GBP would much rather have Mayweather-Hatton 2 than Mayweather-Cotto.

If Margarito wins, then his market value goes up. So maybe, maybe, we get that matchup.

You are right about that being an affiliate. But I'm really started to put blame on Goldenboy about the Cotto fight not happening. Oscar is pimping that whole crew. Especially with Mosley situation. Wish there was only Top Rank and the rest, because that fight would had been made with Cotto vs May. I think Campbell was right about them being booking agents

What would be more appealing? A Cotto vs Mosley rematch or Cotto vs DLH fight?

Let's just assume that Cotto gets by Margarito and that DLH loses to PBF but looks good doing it.

Which fight would you rather see? And which makes the Cotto-PBF fight more marketable.

I think if Cotto beats DLH and since he already beat Mosley would help to get the fight that we want to see which is Cotto-PBF.

Remember DLH fights his last fight in December.

wasn't DLH saying he wanted to fight him after mayweather.

I had the fight something like 8-3-1, but I think in the rematch Shane will make it a much closer fight.

A December fight against Cotto is just talk.

Put aside the fact that DLH will probably want some rest after fighting Mayweather before going to training camp. Do you really think a fight of that magnitude is only going to be less than 3 months after Mayweather-De La Hoya 2?

Look at how long GBP and HBO promoted the Mayweather-De La Hoya fights.

If he fights Cotto it's gonna be in May 2009 near the holiday.
