I doubt there will be an appeal. It's not as if GBP is Flush with cash to keep filing frivolous lawsuits that have less than 40% of succeeding.
Perhaps with Oscar falling apart and collecting all these DUIs, Canelo and company may be losing their confidence in GBP and maybe after the Chavez fight, looking for a new home. If that happens, the end of GBP will be near.
Looks like Golden Boy wasn't 24 carat, by only 10 carat gold plated nickel.

It was a reporter but you could tell by the conversation the gbp employee wasn't exactly saying hey man don't say stuff like that, it was a dialogue between the two following that theme.

It's probably in GBP's best interest not to even bother with an appeal as that could take a long time and continue costing them a good amount on attorney fees. In the event they were able to get the ruling overturned after an appeal, than a trial would ensue which would also takes several years and cost them an exorbitant amount in lawyer fees.

It's interesting that Oscar thinks Haymon is attempting to monopolize the entire industry. All these PBC events are being conducted with different promotional companies that have an affiliation with Haymon, but Haymon isn't directly promoting any of these fights. It would be very hard for GBP to prove that Haymon is acting as both manager and promoter when there's constant involvement by many promotional companies (not including TR or GBP.)

On another note, I can understand the vitriol that DLH has for Haymon; I'd be furious if someone stole 80% of my business too. I don't know how many "direct contracts" he had with some of the fighters that left him, but it's just poor business if you don't have a plan in place when you know many of your fighters' contracts are about to expire. He's been in damage control ever since.

    Appeal what?

Haymon doesnt have to follow the promoters guide to ripping off fighters.
If he choose to PAY the networks to air his fighters, it's his choice.
EVENTUALLY, it WILL pay off, and Oscar can kiss his stranglehold goodbye.

K2 and Haymon are already plotting Yellers demise, along with FWank and Dibella.

Sucks for Oscar but he has no one to blame but himself. He was asleep at the wheel with his personal life out of control and not taking care of business.

I don't understand how Haymon won. Wasn't this basically the same thing Top Rank sued Haymon for plus more stuff?

I know very little about Al Haymon. He brings us free boxing. That's a good start and I like that. I like that a lot. I think most people should like that.
