People get fights they don't "deserve" all the time. After all the years Paul put in trying to get the big fights against Floyd, Cotto, Shane, and others just to be denied because "he doesn't bring fans to the table"????


And for three years, he didn't fight a single "soft touch" fight. And most people here picked Ishida to beat him. The kid has paid his dues. It don't matter how many people get upset about the Lara decision. It doesn't change who he's been in the ring with and the fact that he dog-whipped that same ni99a who KO'd Kirkland.


No one should be asking who "deserves" a goddamn thing!

Canelo takes out Williams IMO. Watch Williams' activity slow up when he starts eating power punches from Canelo.

Kirkland is the more interesting fight to me and I think it sells better too, very important for a PPV main event.

 

this. im not that convinced by Canelos power against top opposition. Williams has a decent chin and very high work rate could create some problems for Canelo.

 

Kirkland is more dangerous for a round or two but once he starts eating power shots I dont think his chin would hold up. Too technically flawed and bad chin to hold up a fight against a decent puncher.

 

I agree. Everyone talks as if Paul's chin is garbage yet only one guy
was able to get him outta there.
Lara hit him with everything he had and Paul was there to fight all night long.
I keep hearing
"old Williams vs new Williams"
but as long as I've seen the Punisher, he's pretty much fought the with the same style, just throw in a big punch from Sergio in between.

Check my history, I've always supported Canelo and think he's a fine young talent, but this is a horrible fight for Him. Of all the cats out there Williams is about the last one I'd want to put in with Canelo. This is a bad choice IMO. I consider this 50/50. Dangerous fight...

 

Williams never corrected his stance issues that led to his stuck-out-chin getting dislocated in his fight with Martinez. He'll bring pressure and likely gets his head taken off.

Mike Tyson resume was great at 21 juts like Floyd Patterson, Canelo hasn't face any good fighter in his prime just yet, lets c what happens when he does, he is 21 but he is a "Champion" or not?
