    Its very good!
If it were Jacobs vs Thiam, we're talking less than 100 buys tops, as only family members of the fighters would buy the PPV.

Lets see, if we went by those numbers Jacobs only deserves 1% of the pot.

If you do a little math, in order to deserve a 20% split of purse, in a proposed fight with Thiam, Jacobs would have to sell 60K ppv in such a fight.
I guarantee you one thing right now, no way in hell Jacobs-Thiam sells 60k ppv!

If Golovkin were to fight Thiam on a PPV, I'd be generous to estimate that fight would sell 100K ppv.

this. It's not like Canelo brings in HUGE numbers to face scrubs. Canelo's drawing power depends immensely on the opponents.

The same can be said about every single "A-side" that boxing has produced. So what's really your point?

The difference between the "A-side" and all others is that the A-side's "scrub" numbers are usually bigger than the others vs top notch opponents.

We can use Canelo/Smith vs GGG/Jacobs as an example.

We are talking about PPV draws. Not just a popular A-side. If Canelo needs a hugely popular opponent to sell close to a mill, then his perceived selling ability is askew. And that was the same for Floyd. He needed a top notch dance partner to sell. The last fighters who could sell on their own, were Tyson, Holy, and DLH.

Nope. Even Tyson needed top notch opponents to maximize his PPV returns.

Tyson's era PPV was not like today. He sold big all the time.

Tyson was a phenomenon who happened to be a heavyweight and you're right that era was different PPV wise but he did not always sell big(relatively). Not all his fights passed the million PPV mark which seems to be gold standard.

Jacobs should snatch that offer up no questions asked. 20% against Canelo is probably more than his 35% against Golovkin.
A lot feel Jacobs wins that fight so he should accept every demand in order to secure the fight. 80% to Canelo looks bad on paper , but its not that bad at all.
Jacobs has no other options that are nearly as good as this.

Canelo's lowest PPV was Smith (noname fighter) with 300K. That's still 2x more then GGGs highest PPV fight (Lemieux), that's why the 60-40% offer is more then fair. The mexicans will be there for Canelo always. If Golovkin was knocking him out in the first fight, and knocking him out in the canceled rematch in May, Canelo still has a higher PPV fanbase.

    Canelo-mayweather 2.3M
    Canelo-Cotto 1M
    Canelo-Chavez 1M
Canelo vs Khan 600K PPK (plus UK PPV)

Consider that with GGG he did 1.3M, it was a high risk medium reward fight for him, as he made tons of millions with pastprime Cotto and overhyped Chavez Jr aswell.

PPV numbers back then do not have the same meaning as today's. The market is different to the point of being unrecognizable.

Not everyone is Mayweather and Pacquiao, and even them, after being in the spot light for eons, how many PPVs did Floyd sell against Berto, and how many did Pacquiao sell against Horn?

300K is the standard for a cashcow against a no name opponent and pretty damn good for anyone. Especially when you factor in how easy it is to access illegal streams.

You sound like a hysterical woman. What fighter has Canelo ducked and what does "blatant" mean to you?

Youve been acting like a hysterical female for a long time, but especially more since GGG got stripped and Canelo told him to **** off with his ridiculous 50/50 demand.
