In November of 2015, Alvarez was guaranteed a surprising purse $5 million to compete for Miguel Cotto's WBC and Ring Magazine Middleweight titles. Compared to Miguel's whopping $15 million guarantee, Canelo's payday seemed a bit low. But with favorable numbers from Mexican TV, Alvarez eventually received a 45% share of the entire purse generated from the successful pairing.
canelo would do half the ppv buys he did against ggg and have a great chance to lose this one...ggg should just sit and watch
My advice is to ignore them lol. Of course he isn't, he's very solidly build and a good size for MW but that's all. Many SMWs are considerably bigger.
canelo just got popped for peds. he gave up leverage on negotiations at least for the time being imo.
Canelo is about challenges, but he also isn't stupid and not letting someone who has a hard time selling 150K ppvs strog arm him for more money than their worth.
Absolutely not, but I also understand boxing and know what ring rust can do to a fighters performance.
This thread is about business so just don't come into these type of threads if you don't like the business aspect of the sport.
money talk in boxing is EVERYWHERE not just this thread Probably a good reason why the sport is so niche I'm burned out as it is. Cant see myself getting excited for the future as so many good fights come with so much bickering and baggage.
20% of what he'd get against Canelo would still be more that 40%Of what he got against GGG... I don't understand why it would be a big deal.
