    Huh, well all my "Vélez could definitely test or even perhaps expose García" talk was based on my ignorance of the fact that he was half-retired and working a fast-food chicken joint when he got the call for this date. I was basing my analysis on the assumption of Vélez being in-shape and staying fresh & sharp in sparring year-round and operating at the same level as previous times we've seen him.

    Vélez is getting caught by jabs on the way in, whacking the sides of García with the left hook falling in but eating straight counters every time he lunges. García is letting himself get entangled in clinches when his outstretched jabbing arm is grabbed & yanked in, then waiting for the ref to order them apart. García working fast jabs & 1-2s from outside in between the inevitable collisions every half-minute or so.
