The way Velez sometimes closes range by simply walking straight forward and bumping his shoulder into Garcia pushing him off balance looks comical but its actually pretty effective

Ehhh...so you think if he weren't absent from the gym since his victory over shot-to-bits JuanMa (something Jayson probably saw as being as high a note as he was ever going to be able to exit on) a sharper version with a longer training camp wouldn't be capable of doing better & making it closer? Going to have to agree to disagree.

A win over JuanMa in 2018 isn't exactly going to launch you to stardom or big paydays like it would've a decade earlier. He was still more or less toiling in obscurity, and probably questioning whether it was even worth it to get fed to prospects like Kingry at this point.

Garcia might well go on and become a Champion but man as of right now, the annoying cocky persona he's displaying makes me wanna run up and slap him so hard

    then run away.

Of course not but you'd think he'd have made a decent amount of money in his eleven year pro career to not be working fast food. No money in boxing too top heavy

    Round 5

García is proving to be a dirty little bugger, shoving Jayson's head deep into his own armpit, dragging his arm in & scrubbing his elbows against the rear of the skull on the ref's blindside, and spinning Vélez in a front-facing headlock. Vélez is churning out up-jabs and overhands as he lurches into García, working body shots inside while shaking & thrashing, making it physical, but largely ineffective. Some 1-2s outside by García.

    10-9 García

    49-46 García

Ive never been that high on velez to begin with, im like the only one to pick Ronny Rios to beat him.. That said Rye as young as he is, is in a different class than velez and I dont think it would have made a difference if velez had a better camp or not imo.
