Sánchez is getting into a groove, still eating counter uppercuts inside as Dougie points out, but overall righting the ship with effective combos and vastly outworking the Mexican while pressing in & turning him on a tight diameter over the Tecate logo, like he was tightening a screw.

Nip & tuck early in the seventh. Sánchez being made to work incredibly hard for every inch. González is leaning in, burying his face against Sánchez's chest, and driving skyward with the uppercut razing against the side of the body on its way to Sánchez's chin. Some of those are thudding home, but Sánchez is landing far more with his chippy little body combos in between the clinches and some downward scything hacks & uppercuts of his own as he pry-bars himself out a bit.

Gonzo floats a jab but Sánchez bats it down and then stuffs his own into the mouth, using it as touchstone for a frenetic combination pressing in. Stiff jabs on the body from Sánchez, reaching around to hit the liver and snapping out short right uppercuts on the inside. Sánchez is blocking most of Gonzo's point-blank uppercuts now, turning him in the pocket with a guiding hand and then opening up. Sánchez hurts González, teeing off with a minute left. The veteran covers up and just about weathers it, albeit on wobbly legs. González pushes his punches, all for show, and then grabs Sánchez by the arms to yank him in close and stall for time.
