Beating Jones at this stage of his life does NOTHING for JC... hopkins.. is the champion at LHW

    this is elementary stuff.

Of course it means much more but you can't tell me beating Jones wouldn't look good on his resume even now ..Considering who he's fought for all these yrs ..And the fight sells there isn't a person here who wouldn't watch it ..

I agree but thats a different argument. I have no problem whatsoever with a JC/Jones fight should he beat Hopkins.

i would be forced to watch it i suppose... but i really wouldnt be excited for it.

and to be honest imperial... i really dont think it looks that great on his resume...

i mean, people were saying that even IF tito won... it wouldnt mean anything... a natural 154lber whos been gone for 3 years.

Now the 168lb champion and p4p beats up on jones and it would mean even less....

and the way fans are... nobody would give jc credit for the win... and it would be remembered forever as the shot jones.

I mean... im not saying im totally against this fight, but to me i just dont really see the point.. when you got hopkins.. maybe after hopkins he could fight jones just for the money and i guess for the scalp, just to say he beat the once great roy... but meh... idk.. i see what your saying though.

I honestly beleive that Jones will get a crack at the winner ..For Hopkins there is no bigger fight after Calzaghe then Jones and the same could be said for JC ..But I am happy that we get JC/Hopkins first ..Oh and on HBO not PPV ..

Exactly, Hopkins is the man at 175. He beat Tarver who dethroned Jones. Jones is fighting chumps and retired fighters who cant find their division.

I could imagine Hopkins getting beat off JC and then fighting RJJ

Thats all well and good but it was Hopkins who has called out Jones before Calzaghe ..The fight obviously means something to him ..Only reason it hasn't been made is because those 2 ego maniacs couldn't agree to a split ..Regardless of your own personal opinion they know even at this stage in Roy's career there is still a fight to be made !!
