What a great ending it would be if Golovkin gets a cut, breaks a bone, or God forbid loses to Saunders. You wouldn't be able to make that shid up. Lol

No big money fight, and no legacy defining fight, sent straight to the old folks home.

Lets all hope Golovkin comes out unscathed.

Fair enough. I'll have to stay out then. No tolerance for idiots on here and their blatant lies.

let me guess ...people are turning their backs on GBP now right? just like they were gonna do with canelo for ducking ggg? LOL

i could care less what golovkin does...fight saunders...doesnt fight saunders.....dont matter to me....but stop talking/acting like they are "holding ggg hostage".....or trying to "dicatate his career"....

this guy pincai is in here like "they trying to control gggs career" and "it would be fine if ggg was a nobody but hes not a nobody"...except he sort of is in comparison to canelo......ggg has ducked fights in order to save his record for a canelo clash...hes chased canelo for a couple of years now...if ggg was somebody he wouldnt be chasing a 26 year old....the 26 year old would be chasing him

Clear as day that GBP is pulling a bait and switch.

Win or lose, ol Yeller needs a fight for Sept, and if GGG has already waxed BJS, it means Yellers gotta huevo-up and fight Lemiuex or show major stones trying to negotiate with a Haymon fighter, or possibly NDam, none of which he could rob.

Run along you unintelligent, butt hurt clown of a poster. After your belligerent outburst, there's nothing you can say that can possibly redeem yourself.

What's more is the idea that getting the WBO somehow puts him in better position for negotiations with Canelo, or makes Canelo need Golovkin somehow. Saunders or not, WBO Title or not, Golovkin will still be expected to put all those titles on the line vs Canelo in September, and if he doesn't do that, he'll be responsible for the fight not happening.

    Lol

Golovkin fanatics don't care about Golovkin fighting Canelo, but they care about Golovkin fighting Canelo more than any other group of fans in boxing.

I didn't say that, in fact I predict that Canelo-Chavez Jr will sell very well. The boxing public never had much love for promoters or managers anyway, this will just reinforce that idea.

That's exactly what Gomez is doing though, trying to use threats to scupper a rival's career. I can't take Gomez's comments any other way, can you? Don't you think that it's wrong for Gomez to threaten Golovkin with such a ridiculous excuse if he fights Saunders in June? As a boxing fan, don't you want Canelo-GGG to happen in September? And if so, can't you agree that Gomez is in the wrong for putting yet another unnecessary obstacle in the way?

If he'd advised GGG not to take the fight because of injury risk, etc., I wouldn't care much. But I guess it comes down to this: I react very strongly to veiled threats of this sort, I consider them extremely dishonourable.

Impossible to be undisputed without being Lineal. But to Triple G fans, they want to be able to close their eyes and for two months act like he's undisputed before getting smashed by Canelo. It's gonna be fun to watch. . .

    That's a contradiction, doesn't make sense.

Yes, that's right. So if Golovkin wants to take the risk, it's up to him, and Gomez is still talking nonsense.

You've clearly demonstrated you react quite strongly to this type of thing lol, but hey we're all entitled to our opinion. I will admit that I don't think Gomez has any right to tell Golovkin what to do, and maybe that statement will even make Golovkin's camp more embolden to make the Saunders fight. However, I don't think that Gomez's comment is more of an obstacle than the Saunders fight itself. It's obvious that Gomez sees the Saunders fight as an obstacle, or he wouldn't have made the comment to begin with.

in my honest opinion...i dont give a crap what gomez says....k2 and golovkin should do whatever they want or feel is best.....and you should never put all of your eggs in one basket......golovkin and company should do whatever they feel is best for them...if they want to fight saunders they should.......go for it....its that simple....

do i wanna see golovkin/canelo in september? yup....does that mean its going to happen? nope.....if it came off in may or september next year it wouldnt be much difference to me....

No, "undisputed" is generally taken to mean having the four major belts, regardless of the lineal title. There was an article on the Scene explaining that several years ago and a poll to back it up too.

The conclusion was that: Undisputed > Lineal > Unified > Belt-holder.
