its been Showtime. there was a few good HBO fights but way more great quality matchups on Showtime. Not even close.
Yeah its been an absolute landslide this year. Showtime has produced some great fights this year. and great events as a whole.
HBO always. Fight quality is about even. But it's not just about fight quality; its about the experience too. HBO always bring the experience, and makes it feel rich. Like Im doing something meaningful in some way staying at home in front of my TV during my Saturday nights lol.
Showtime has raped HBO. Arakawa v Figueroa Canelo v Trout Canelo v Mayweather Mayweather v Guerrero Mares v Gonzalez Garcia v Matthysse Garcia v Judah Matthysse v Peterson Broner v Malignaggi Maidana v Lopez Upcoming December Fights: Maidana v Broner Malignaggi v Judah Trout v Lara Alexander v Porter Ortiz v Molina Thurman v Karass Unbiased commentary. Great analysis by Paulie of the fights. No favouritism at all. Unlike the noisy neighbours. HBO promote fights better no doubt. But their team is a joke.
Kinda depends which fights you like. If you like watching fights between about 135 and 154 that almost always involve at least 1 US or Mexican fighter then SHO does everything you'll ever need. If you like watching fights at MW or above (or 130 down) or like watching international fights then HBO is the one you want. I also feel that HBO is better at showcasing new talent. For me it's HBO hands down, but that's just due to my preference for the kinda fights SHO doesn't...well, show. HBO has much broader coverage of the sport as a whole, whereas SHO naturally has more depth in the areas that appeal to its target demographic.
i personally liked showtime more, but thats because i like the roster of GBP and showtime. Not taking anything away from HBO they had some good fights but i cant stand lampley and merchant anymore
This is very important to me. I cant stand when Lampley and Merchant are so biased that you start to question the card you're scoring. But yeah Showtime definitely has put on the better and bigger fights.
