    Don't ever compare GBP to the O.G. promotions company Top Rank. Get that **** out of here, feeding a fighter like Lara which has a great background 4 straight bums, 4 straight 1st round KO's then they get a little stiff on him and give him Molina and hes half asleep for the whole fight. GBP is a wannabe Top Rank company and their fighters continue to get exposed because of the soft as hell quality of opposition that they give their fighters.

    Top Rank builds stars - I don't need to list them out for you.

    GBP takes good fighters and inflates them into over-hyped status mediated by tomato can opposition translated into their fighters being exposed.

    You're exactly right about the difference in how they bring up young stars. Compare Rios and Canelo. Rios was made to earn his title beating a tough champ in a tough fight. And it would've been Soto if Soto hadn't ducked him. GBP and the WBC colluded to hand Canelo his belt fighting a guy who wasn't even considered a good fighter a division below him. And he was allowed not to make weight. Night and day really. GBP have no idea how to build a star

    Say this all the time, GBP's bringing through of young talent is atrocious. Lara however is to blame here, he just didn't wake up. GBP also poach talent STILL UNDER CONTRACT which is a big no no in business and no wonder Arum won't work with them.

    They don't know what the **** they're doing. Its as simple as that. Top Rank is the original gangster, they brought up fantastic prospects the right way. Rios is fighting tough ass ****ing competition with Top Rank, and I mean TOUGH ASS fkn competition with Top Rank. If he were to be with GBP, he'd be fighting tomato can after tomato can and they'd fail miserably with him. Watch Top Rank, the masters at work, they will turn B+ level fighters into flat out stars.

    You could give GBP an A level fighter and they'd ****ing fail with them.

    Enough said, this topic is so true its almost boring and I almost wish I didn't even make this thread to begin with.

    I like Oscar but I have to agree...I would rather be with Dibella, Top Rank, or Gary Shaw.

    Remember Barrera's first fight under Golden Boy? 2003 he was I think P4P #5 against PAC and he lost big time. Hope Nonito won't suffer the same fate..

    yup, pretty much....they pretty much don't have anyone besides amir, and they're lucky to have picked up nonito so that might help, but red head, get that ish out of here

    I agree, Dibella is pure class and he is a great promoter.

    GBP is not even Gary Shaw level. At least Shaw sticks his guys in there with good fighters.

    GBP is a damn mess. HBO signed their own death sentence by partnering with GBP.

    Top Rank and Showtime will rise to glory. ;)
