In 2008 both Cotto and Pavlik lost, but I guess this is overlooked.

GBP is in a downturn right now, but these things happen. Ask any promoter in the game.

I can't wait for some haters to come and blame GBP's inept performance on Arum because Arum is evil and he is single-handedly destroying boxing, and that they can't wait for him to die lol

What the **** does this have to do with ANYTHING? Cotto lost to Margarito in his prime and Pavlik lost to Hopkins, an ATG. They were already selling tickets and gaining viewers. How does that compare to what GBP is doing. You are completely missing the point.

Cotto and Pavlik were big names and champion calibur fighters when they lost.

Lara, Ortiz, Jacobs are upcoming fighters that lost embarassingly or looked very bad before they can even win a piece of tin.

Cotto made a name for himself, he is one of the top ppv boxers today only under manny and floyd. Pavlik became big, but his fall was lack of talent. The sucess of a promoter is not in winning or lossing. Its if they use their boxer to full potenial. sometimes you gamble, but reward should be bigger then. Top rank has been in the game for years. So they have a better eye bringing out talent. Wheather you hate TR, there the best in today in bring out talent. They do make mistake, like dropping the ball with floyd and marquez and even Donaire. But when they left the company they where far from damage goods. They where just good talent that got lost in the shuffle. TR biggest problem is they sometimes protect a boxer too much. They don't gamble too much if one of their own is fighting another promotional fighter.

Golden boy sorta drop the ball with their talent. They have a lot of great boxers in their stable that got lost in the shuffle. But then had guys like Ortiz and Juarez on tv constantly. If that was any other promotion, they ortiz and jurarez would have gone back of the line after their loss. There was a number of great talents loss before the public really got to know them. To their credit, their still a young company and learning. I tought they did good with Amir and Maidana.

lets put it this way, if Top Rank had a talent like Lara. He wouldn't have been fighting 4 damn tomato cans in a row. He would have had decent opposition than that and he wouldn't have been half asleep against a guy like Molina. I'm not blaming the loss on this though, Lara sucked last night - its his fault. But GBP is killing great prospects. I think that Lara is a better fighter than Vanes actually, and why is it that Top Rank at around the same amount of fights (16 or so) stepped Vanes up consistently until his 25th or so fight to fight Ouma. Thats quality right there. Lara gets 4 bums and then he struggles in his 16th fight with a guy like Molina. Thats an embarrassing job by GBP. Absolutely disgraceful.
