There's signs man.... if you look closely at how GRJ reacts to some of the punches from the bums he's fought.. he isn't getting hurt but he has the look of shock and discomfort whenever they land, he freezes a bit. And consider the level of the guys he's facing... The way he has been completely unwilling to step up the competition, there has to be a reason for that. Even if GRJ is the goods we're not going to see it in this fight, you're not at the top of the game when the last decent competition you fought and lost against was in the amateurs 7 years ago.
I think you're overanalysing and giving GRJ abilities he doesn't have. GRJ is an aimless fighter and he's just going to keep coming in with his predictable jab, he's not going to have a hope of landing anything if he tries to keep it on the back foot. I honestly believe that GRJ is a journeyman level fighter who has tricked people into believing he has some talent due to the cans he has continually fought and his hand speed. He throws 'Chad Dawson' combos, he moves his hands for speed without accuracy and intention to really land, he flurries and hopes for the best. His ring IQ and foot work looks very poor to me.
Actually the guy seems to know his shiit.:nono Im not saying I agree with him, but he's objective in his assertions. It's very true that Rigo hasnt fought anyone with GRJs jab. At least anyone who's used it against Rigo. Donaire certainly did not, and Agbeko went right after Rigo's body and paid dearly for trying to take it to him. As for his assessment of Loma.....I think he's foolish to just watch 2 rds of film from each fight. I think he's probably lying when he's saying he hasnt seen it. But he's speaking objectively, and I like his confidence. It seems genuine and squarely rooted.:think
Great point. Even though Loma looked lost for answers sometimes, GRJ is a polar opposite style to Salido. It's difficult to pick a winner based on both of their pasts. GRJ has fought terrible comp that usually only get 2 weeks notice, while Loma looked great in one fight and a bit out of his element although it was solid opponents.
:happy:happy:happy Just F/N thrilled this might end the cold war.:happy:happy:happy Lomachenko is dying for a title, and GRJ has been crying about not getting his shot...... Seems like their perspective promoters have no choice but to give us what we want. Hopefully, this will aid in getting Kovalev into the LHW tournament.:think
Loma had absolutely no knowledge of pro style scoring. Believe it or not, if Salido-Loma was an amateur fight, Loma would have won that handily, but it's not, so Loma needs to learn more about how pros score points.
That's true, based on the amateur scoring Lomachenko would have won just about every round, and I agree that he needs some experience and knowledge about how the judges usually score a fight in the pros. As for that guy claiming that Russell will easily beat Lomachenko, he will have to wait until the fight to actually see that, and I don't see that happening at all. Also, the claims about Rigondeaux are ridiculous.
http://www.***********.com/video-gary-russell-jr-pumped-lomachenko-bout--76919 Gary Russell expects an easy fight... I really hope he doesn't believe that or he's in for the shock of his life. He should be preparing for the toughest fight of his life, and talking about whether Lomachenko deserves the fight or not just shows off his mental weakness. I'm really looking forward to GRJ seeing what facing a real fighter is like :yep
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBe8CwBHeiA GRJ backed into a corner by the interviewer, rambles and says nothing. Gary talks about Lomachenko not going 10 rounds blah blah...... Gary has never been 12 rounds against anyone, let alone a guy like Salido. Lomachenko's pro experience > Gary Coleman's.
IIRC, according to one of Dan Rafael's chats, the reason GRJ has been brought along so slowly is that there are real concerns about his punch resistance. Take that for what it's worth.
They clearly watched the fight because on one interview Russell Jr said he watched the fight with Salido, and on another he said he didn't - the latter being an interview he did later. He probably thinks Vasyl doesn't hit hard because Salido gets dropped all the time and Vasyl in the 12th despite landing many shots, couldn't drop him, therefore he'd much rather face Vasyl than someone like Jhonny Gonzalez, Abner Mares or Nonito Donaire. He is in for a rude awakening. This fight is in May right?
Why the hell is this guy continuing with this thing of taking tough fights even after losing to Salido? Does he want to ruin his own career?
