What on earth makes you think GRJ is a tough fight? Even if GRJ was the real deal and an outstanding boxer he'd be just like every other top boxer Lomachenko beat as an amateur. It's the rough (and illegal) swarmer style he wasn't used to facing for 12 in the amateurs, he'll eat up a boxer like GRJ for breakfast. Styles make fights and Salido was always going to be the toughest opponent for Lomachenko at the worst time of his career. Lomachenko isn't going to take another L, he'll be a lot more comfortable against the likes of Rigo and Garcia than he was against Salido. I honestly see GRJ as a soft touch before the real fights, GRJ was always intended to be the first mandatory defence after the Salido fight anyway.
This ain't the amateurs pal. LOMA fought like an amateur against Saildo and lost. I'm positive Loma saw Saildo's style many times in the amateurs too, but this is not the amateurs. Believe me. GRJ is going to jack that ass up and make Loma 1-2.
Yeah he saw Salido's style in the amateurs but with that style there's a big difference when it's for 12 rounds. Salido didn't do any good work anyway, that fight was about what Lomachenko didn't do. Lomachenko was clearly superior in every way and lost it with his pacing strategy. GRJ is a no mark who will get destroyed, believe me.
I thought he'd seen every conceivable style in his 397 amateur bouts? Now it's he's seen every conceivable style except one: that of Orlando Salido.
"Wasn't used to facing for 12 rounds". Reading comprehension my friend. That's the one style that tends to summate over the course of 12 rounds, it didn't but Lomachenko fought too conservatively. He still won the fight imo. And Salido had a style of being overweight, throwing only low blows and landing no legal punches so I guess that was a unique style for Lomachenko to face.
If everything was fair and legal, Lomachenko would have won the fight. Let's not pretend that he got some kind of schooling from Salido because it's not the case. Despite everything, Loma still won that fight in my opinion. I guess that we will just have to wait and see what happens in the Russell fight.
Ahhh... the I- want-to-be-cool-and- black-too Korean kid with the cringe inducing identity crisis. Run along now and go suck up to Floyd fans on some other thread.
If Lomachenko fought Salido in the amateurs, Salido would have been disqualified................and that's no joke...............If Laurence Cole had not been the referee Lomachenko would have won the fight. All Salido did was throw punches to the legs, balls, hips, etc., Salido was out on his feet in the last round, but held on for dear life.................Cole is the worst referee in the world today, he should be banned..............
LOL You sure make wild exaggerations just to make a point. 1. This isn't the amateurs. It's the Pros. 2. A different ref may have warned and maybe even penalized Saildo for fouling but, he may have also warned and penalized Loma for excessive holding which he did for half of the fight. 3. I wouldn't say Cole is the best ref, but I would also not say he is the worst, At most, all I can say is he ignored fouling from both fighters. LOL Stop being such a drama queen
You will find there are a lot of boxing fans who agree. This has been a problem for years now......................hitting after the bell is also a foul..............
