Why is he coming in at 154 if he's gonna climb to 166? Makes no sense. Why dehydrate an unnecessary 3 lbs?

Damn...Geale looks dead. I kind of liked his chances for the upset too.

He is being truthful so I wouldn't call what he said disgraceful, what I meant was, the way he casually throws it in along with praising his fighter, the fact his opponent's been drained down due to Cotto's diva antics, so after the fight, unless Geale pulls a big upset against the odds, I hope Roach says, Miguel looked great but a lot of that was because Geale didn't handle the weight issue well.

Apart from the recent farce he's been running I really do like Cotto as a fighter and a man, he seems very reserved, stoic and a nice guy believe it or not, he just has this strange sealed off vibe, I just think he is very insulated and doesn't give a tin**** what anyone thinks, sometimes it's admirable, sometimes it's ridiculous.

I actually agree with this. The thing about boxing, is a fighter is both a human and a brand. The person and the brand are different, even though they are also obviously intertwined.

At least for me, typically when I dump on a fighter - in this case Cotto - I am talking about the brand, the public commercial persona , the corporate body that embodies both the fighter and his team and management. What they do in the ring and the business surrounding it.

The only times that is not the case, is typically when they do something deplorable as a person like beat on women or something.

Cotto actually seems like a decent guy, its his brand as a fighter and commercial tack that makes me hope he (his brand) fails in the ring. On a personal level I would likely make similar moves, to try and maximize my career. But as a fan of the sport that doesn't mean I think he should be allowed to get away with it.

    If that makes any sense.

Geale looks awful. Hope he fights better than he looks or it will be a farce.

Geales looks out of his depth AGAIN. Looked scared and timid and looked like he was wondering what he was doing there.

So you put some great fights in a list , which is why CW was invented , to make cross weight stars fight eachother on some sort of playing field , you want to say that Geale is a star and so a CW is ******ted to make such a high profile fight happen ?

Of course Cotto forced Geale to fight at 157 :yep

Geale wouldn't have got the fight without accepting the 157 pound limit imposed on him by Cotto.

    1. The ridiculous banter about catch weight is just that, ridiculous. Stop already. BOTH sides agreed to the fight and weight. Move on.
    2. The hating on Cotto is just that... hating. He is a very good boxer what has fought great competition. He is a warrior and always comes to fight.
    3. Geale is a good fighter that lost to the one of the best in all of boxing, GGG. He was completely overmatched.
    4. I do not think Geale's resume is anything to write home about, other than GGG.
    5. I think Geale's trouble with making weight will hurt him tonight in the second half of the fight and after Cotto has landed some of his famous body shots.

Prediction: Cotto by stoppage around round 9-10.

so you're predicting the 'warrior' will win because he drained the other guy but you want everyone else to 'move on' about the catchweight.
