even though i want to see Cotto vs Canelo, i really hope Geale wins tonight.

I can understand why they cherry picked the cripple for a massive payday and a shot of winning a title at MW, in hindsight it was a genius move but if he didn't want to continue fighting MW's, he should have vacated the title.

This is a quote fro Cotto this week:

“I'm not a 160-pounder and I just want to make the game more fair"

Then please vacate the title and fight in a lower weight class Cotto, it isn't rocket science. This is absurd and a low for Boxing IMO

I've don't care about PAC or what happened with him and Cotto many years ago. Catchweights as a tool to gain a cheap advantage over people in your own division is BS, does not matter who does it.

It depends how he looks in the fight, Cotto looked fine against Pacquiao, how much better would he have been coming in at 147 though, would it have made a difference? He suggested it was a big factor even though he looked good, the psychological effects can't be ignored. Canelo looked a little lost but that's most lkely 90% his naive tactics and Mayweather being on his A* game, 10% the extra cutting, De La Hoya he was a damn scarecrow but I don't think he'd have beaten Pacquiao that night in any circumstance, wouldn't have been stopped though. We'll have to see how Geale looks, Cotto ought to beat him on paper even without the weight issue but he was supposed to beat Trout too, who wasn't brought down like Geale.

So you don't think Geale having to literally starving himself for 36 hours to make the catchweight will be a factor in the outcome?

He was forced to accept the 157 pound catchweight condition or he wouldn't have got the fight. It's that simple.

Agreeing to the catchweight was the only way Geale was going to get the fight. A case of starve yourself or we'll find someone else.

Interestingly there are two polls here and last check both were running in Geale's favour.

After Skeletor stepped on the scale instead of Geale, things are looking up a bit for Cotto. Will be interesting to see.. as long as Geale can not get hooked right on the jaw I think he wins by UD or loses via robbery still , but only time will tell which Geale steps in.

Why are there so many here killing Cotto because Geale accepted the catch weight? PLEASE... give it a rest. He could have said "NO".

Geale could have said no and then not got the fight.

Why should Geale in challenging for what rightfully is and always has been a 160 pound belt be forced to come in at 157?

The only reason the 157 pound limit was set by Cotto was to advantage him and at the same time disadvantage Geale.

BOTH agreed to the weight. Enough of the *****ing by everyone. Clearly Cotto is in a no win situation. If he wins, everyone claims it was because it "was unfair, the weight, Geale had to starve himself" blah blah blah. If he loses, he "sucks and is damaged goods etc.".

People just need to enjoy boxing and stop the fuccing drama *****/hate fests.

You really just don't comprehend things do you?

Cotto needed an untainted win, and now cant get one no matter what. He did it to himself... no sympathy for the Diva.
