It was almost finished at 2:40 into the first round. Wood looked like he was going to quit and Geale was not letting up. Respect for the killer instinct Geale showed in the first It was a complete mismatch. Geale showed his class and rightfully so respected Wood's power by not getting over sloppy when on the offensive. Overall a good performance by Geale. Im sure he wanted Wood out of there in the first, which he was very very close to doing.
Wood was scheduled to fight Murray for a vacant world title not long ago and that was since his loss to Soliman. Having said that, Wood looked very ordinary last night. But Geale jumped on him from the start and schooled him.
So many titles around these days it's impossible to keep track of which alphabet organisation it belongs to and if it's vacant or held by someone. I do know Mundine only ever won vacant 'world' titles though :yep This content is protected
He looked fantastic, but Wood looked a lad from the pub with two weeks of cardio boxing class under his belt, so you have to measure how well Geale looked guardedly.
That's true but good fighters in Mandy and Sammy never made that kind of statement against GW. I think Gealey's travelling pretty well.
U could prob count on 1 hand how many jabs he threw..always thought Geale's biggest weakness was his jab, other than wood shouldn't have been in there with Geale
That is quite true, he was power happy. (of course, how much of that was knowing he could get away with that versus Wood...but you're right, he never really excels in the jab category...)
