For all the people saying GGG has fought nobody, can't defend, and is too old, here's your chance to catch the lottery !

Put your money where your mouth is, or STFU !

Make sure to check the vCash levels for a number of the naysayers before the fight. You can damn well bet they won't be betting against GGG. This will be clear when the totals are known following the fight.

Eh, the people you're referring to have already labled Geale as weak competition. They've basically labled everyone at MW as weak competition (including Martinez due to age and injuries) and essentially everyone at SMW except Andre Ward as weak competition.

There's only one person that Golovkin could beat that'll maybe convince them that he's a great fighter and that's Ward. However if/when Golovkin beats Ward, they'll likely claim it's because of all the time Ward's choosen to sit out has made him rusty.

If Golovking wasn't fighting stiffs for so long, and hadn't disappointed fans with his constant lackluster opposition, he might have actually gotten the respect he deserves. Now people have gotten into a habit of just nitpicking every little thing he does just for the sake of criticism, and that includes taking a step up in competition.

Talk about this thread being so ill thought out that it is just a pointless borderline troll thread.

Claiming that Golovkin "has fought nobody, can't defend, and is too old" doesn't mean they have stated any claims to Geales' chances against him...

Khan's chin has proven to be made out of caste iron since his migration to 147 pounds. Him draining weight all those years to get to the 140 pound Jr. welterweight limit has taken its toll on his punch resistance.

At 160, his chin and speed would be impeccable.

Khan's ferocious hand speed, coupled with his audacious and aggressive in and out style would prove to be too much for the pugilist from Karaganda.

Khan by 12 round beating over GGG! :toney

Why are you bringing up ratings?

Alvarez and Chavez Jr. led American viewership for those couple years before they truly stepped up. They were known, and constantly ridiculed, for only having fought a couple fringe top 10 ranked fighters.

List me the many top 5 MW's Golovkin has beaten, please.

Then list to me all the top 10 MW's he has beaten.

    Thank you.

Here's the melodrama that I love so much.
"Who, exactly has GGG beat?" "Who GGG Beat? He ain't fite nobody!!!!!!!"
Do you not watch fights? You know exactly who Golovkin has beat. Stop acting like a ******.
Which rankings do you use? GBP's Ring Magazine? Boxrec? Sanctioning bodies?
Who has ducked is the question you need to ask. You already know that though.

I brought up ratings because the mongoloid I replied to lives in a fantasy world where Golovkin has "disappointed his fans".
    More melodramatic bullsh*t.

Nobody beat anybody until they got the chance and beat somebody. I guess with you contrarians, you have to have credit to get credit.

I imagine you did not feel too much excitement watching Ward outclass everyone in the super 6, includinf Froch. Poor thing:|

That being said, I think if Golovkin were to KO Carl people would diminish the accomplishment and make excuses, but it would elevate GGG's drawing power and prestege regardless

It's not right to criticize Golovkin of not fighting certain competition if we are all aware that the very same competition isn't too keen to fight him. If Sturm liked his chances against Golovkin back in the day, I assure you that he would have fought Golovkin. Of course we shouldn't automatically count a "win" for Golovkin over Sturm, but we should at least respect Golovkin for fighting the next guy who is up for a fight.
Macklin was a highly rated middleweight at the time Golovkin fought him (even now he's rated #6 by the Ring). Many people thought that Macklin would at least give Golovkin a tough fight. After Golovkin beaten him, some people right away labelled Macklin as an "unworthy" opponent, while some were like "he has still beaten nobody outside Macklin" and stuff like that. Some people even thought that Proksa would be a tough fight for him, not to mention Stevens, yet he was given little credit by the same people who are currently not supporting Golovkin.
Peter Quillin avoided Golovkin as well, so what is he supposed to do? Now when Geale finally accepted to fight him, we have some people already even dismissing Geale (who is a legit top MW, rated #2 by the Ring) as an opponent.
On the top of that, there are even people saying that they're not interested in Martinez vs. Golovkin because "Sergio is too old and injured" (which is actually correct) but still acknowledging that Sergio is the number 1 guy in the division (which is also correct). However, the logic says that something is not right there and we are all aware of what's not right there.

Also, there are people on the forums proclaiming Golovkin as some unbeatable fighter, even disrespecting the others if they are put into the same discussion, but if you are constantly degrading a fighter just because someone else is praising him too much, you have to ask yourself if that's the right thing to do.

As far as I'm concerned, Golovkin is far for the unbeatable monster some people are making him out to be, but he is still a great fighter, very respectful and decent guy, and that sometimes counts more than the quality displayed in the ring, at least as far as I'm concerned. There are obviously people who support some other culture, which is based on some other things and not on sportsmanship and respect, but that's too wide of a topic to discuss here.
