I remember when Mundine had one his first few fights in Montreal way back. I thought he was pretty impressive since he was crossing over sports and all. I still think he's done well for himself but man, after everything I would have expected a lot more from him by now.

Has he fought anyone of consequence since the Kessler fight? (Besides Danny Green)

 

No. HIm and his scumbag manager are more than happy to make money by fighitng stiffs in Australia.

Sad, I would like to have seen Mundine really test himself against the best.
He came up short against Kessler, but wasn't disgraced. And to be honest, his best bet is at middle, not super middle.

 

No matter what he does, Mundine will still be remembered as the guy starched by featherfisted Sven Ottke.

 

I had money on Mundine by decision but when they were reading out the scorecards, i almost wished he would have gotten robbed, just so i could see the look on his face.

Ref did everything to help Mundine, the glove taping issue was an absolute farce, should have deducted a point from the clowns whether it was intentional or not, and if a punch causes a fighter to lose their footing and touch the canvas, its a KD.

 

Well Arthur Abraham and Kelly Pavlik are at Middle right now. But I do agree, Super Middle is jam packed with talent at the moment and I do not see Mundine competing that well with any of the top guys.

Its too bad I like the aussie fighters. Danny Green was class when he came over here and beat Lucas and Mundine at the time he fought here did not seem as despised by his own public.

Watch for Mundine to outpoint Danny Green for the WBF lightheavyweight title in early 2010...

I had to look that one up in Boxrec but yes he did. He also fought Ottke in his eleventh fight. That's a pretty rapid ascent for a kid who was not in the sport not that long ago.

The man had so much potential back then.

Ottke who coudnt crack an egg with his feather fisted punches knocked Mundine out. I couldnt believe my very own eyes that day.
