Even without my Geale hat on, he wins this in pretty comfortable fashion IMO. Their first fight was very good and very close. IMO Geale won it, but that's not how 2 of the judges saw it on the night. Mandy has slipped considerably since that fight, due to age and health reasons, I just can't see him troubling Geale. His accuracy is no where near it was a few years back, and he gets hit more. Geale OTOH, has improved since their first encounter, probably by as much as Mandy has slipped. His movement and angles will have Mandy in fits and way out of his comfort zone. Personally I think it's a bit of a non event now because of the reasons I just gave. If it had of happened when it should, within 6 months of the first fight, it would have been more interesting as both fighters were still close. I'd prefer to see Geale go on to bigger and better things really, but if that's what they want, and it works out with a reasonable pay day, then so be it. Beyond that he really needs to focus on the big boys though.
Not saying that I don't disagree Sox. But who has Mundine fought since the Geale fight to say he has slipped since that fight. He was not really the slick 2006, or come forward 2007 vs. Soliman Mundine in the Geale fight. Boxa carry on with a lot of hot air no doubt, they play the game. But Mundine did have injury issues in 2008 with bicep, eye and hip. It was then that he went downhill.
mundog loves a stage, and he usually does better the second time he fights a fighter. mundog would love the title, and im sure he'd pay through the nose for another shot at geale...but if you were geale, would you take the money mundog can produce, and risk your title? do you fight mundine because you want to prove you are better? do you avoid mundine so as to give yourself a continued higher profile in australian boxing than "has been mundine"? if i was handling geale, id fight some bums, make a trillion from the tassie fans, grow dans profile, and just for the people of australia, when mundog turns 49, id give him a small pension, with a fast acting sleeping tablet added....i can hear the crowd roar now........
If you don't disagree, why are you asking? :think Anyway, Wood is the obvious one, to be knocked out by Garth is pretty solid evidence that you're not on your game. :barf Then you just need to look at every single fight since Geale. Compare those fights to the Green fight. Yes, plenty say he began going downhill from 08 with the injurys, and that's probably true, but it certainly didn't seem to show during the Geale fight. They both looked the goods. From that point, Mandy hasn't fought any top contender, and yet he still looks just average. Geale has looked strong in all of his fights since, in particular Sylvester and Karmazin. I don't think many people guessed he'd put Karmazin in hospital for 3 days after a brutal bashing and late KO. Based off Mandys last 6 fights, do you think he could have done that to Karmazin?
 How is Mandy going to outwork Geale? Even at his peak, Mandys workrate wasn't as high as Geales. Workrate is one of Geales main strengths. The only thing Mandy once had over Geale is speed, but even those days are gone.
Mundine's workrate was close to the equal of Geale's during their bout in mid 2009. It was a bit like they'd met on an escalator though. Geale was heading up and Mundine heading down. That's certainly the way their careers have tracked since 2009.
