stare-downs don't win fights unfortunately. Many don't look like a killer beforehand - it's when the bell rings that it counts, let's hope you are right though mate

 

i thought he kinda looked like he was a bit shocked but idk if thats the way the guy looks or not, its almost like he is a deer stunned in car headlights. Unless something awful occurs during this fight i think Geale has this one in the bag.

Ash from what ive read Geales team has a few game plans, i think Sylvesters team knows Geale is an acomplished and experianced amateur and there is concerns, i dont think he is confident of a clear cut win but is confident he will be looked after in his own backyard should it be close.

I read Geales best option is straight down the middle. When i first watched Geale after he turned pro, these were his best shots, the straight sharp snappy punches straight down the middle and he hurt blokes with it many times even though the punch didnt even look hard, it was speed + accuracy = pain lol, if he puts on the preformance of his life and punches straight, doesnt try looping around Sylveters guard then he will win.

The mistake alot of fighters make with Sylvester is looping around his guard, he expects this and it actually helps him setup his counter punches, straight down the middle and never let the **** get off. GO GEALE you can Farkn DO IT CHAMP!

 

Daniel Geale weighs in half a kilo under limit for IBF middleweight title fight with Sebastian Sylvester

TWO days ago Daniel Geale finished a session on the pads with trainer Graham Shaw, who declared it the best he had seen at that stage of his preparation.
And as if to show just how well his training camp has gone, Geale has weighed in half a kilogram under the middleweight limit ahead of tomorrow morning's IBF middleweight challenge against german Sebastian Sylvester.

After a light sweat before the weigh-in Geale came in at 72.1kg, slightly lighter than champion Sylvester, who weighed 72.4kg.

The limit is 72.6kg.

Shaw needed only one word to describe Geale a day before the fight: "Perfect."

Geale attempts to fight for a rare place in Australian boxing, hoping to become only the fourth Australian-born fighter to win a world title on foreign shores.

If he does he will join the royalty of Australian boxing, Jimmy Carruthers, Lionel Rose and Jeff Harding.

No other Australian born fighters have been able to wrest the belt from the champion's waist.

"It's going to be fun," Geale said.

Adding to the significance is the prestige of the belt itself, which boasts a royal line of middleweight champions beginning with Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

Indeed, Hagler was the IBF middleweight champion when won his three-round war with Thomas Hearns in one of the most celebrated fights in championships history.

THE way it happened, they didn't know where Daniel Geale was going in the ratings until they started falling like barflies in the IBF.

With that, Geale said, they no longer concentrated on the WBA or WBC.

Geale was ranked fifth in the IBF, but a couple of losses above him and suddenly the division had no No. 1 or No. 2 ranked contender.

Russian Roman Karmazin had just fought champion Sebastian Sylvester and, while he disputed the decision, he dropped back to No. 3 - and demanded a rematch.

There was no fourth-ranked contender either - only in boxing could this ever happen - and Geale was ranked fifth. So the IBF decided to make everyone happy. Karmazin would fight Geale, the organisation said, the winner to be ranked No. 1 and the mandatory defence for Sylvester.

And here is where Bill Treacy, the proprietor of the Grange Old School Boxing, earned his money.

He invested. He put his money into bone and sinew, the greatest gamble there is.

It is an even greater gamble than buying yearlings, who can't read contracts and always do what they're told.

A day out from the fight that means everything, Daniel Geale reflects on where he has come from.

He knows how lucky he is that, at a time when his career was stalling, a bloke like Treacy stepped in.

Earning $2500 a fight and fighting four to five times a year, which was no way to make a living, Treacy took over Geale's rent and began working on the big picture of steering him towards a world title. It meant the Grange had to bring Karmazin to Australia last year.

It took a lot of money, and they put together one of the best fight cards seen in Australia since the days when Bill Mordey put a little slugger named Jeff Fenech on the undercard of a Guy Waters world title fight.

The promotion bled red ink. But Treacy conceded yesterday that a Geale victory tomorrow will begin to recoup some of the money.

"That's fair to say," he said. "I've never taken a penny off Daniel but I'd expect somewhere down the track we'll sit down and sort it all out. I said to him once that when you get to your first million dollar fight I'll take something back then."

It was a wonderful moment of trust. The Grange is the most professional organisation in Australian boxing.

Treacy is proprietor and godfather. Garrie Francisco manages the fighters and does the legwork in negotiations, with Treacy's input, while Graham Shaw is trainer.

Each knows his job. Each does only his job.It is all built towards Geale returning to Australia early next week with the bright red belt of the IBF.

And only if that happens will they then need to perform their greatest trick: awaking mainstream Australia to Geale's talent and convincing them that Geale is a different fighter from many of the cardboard cutouts that infest Australian boxing.

 

Looking forward to getting up early for this one,I'm starting to think that Geale may even stop Slyvester in the latter rounds,comon Gealy bring it home son!

Believe uncle Anton. Geale/Sylvester will be jumping in the ring around 8am Oz east time.
If 2 support title bouts don't last the distance, it'll be filled with undercard highlights

 

yeah 8am is fair.... that is like 10pm German time i believe
