I cn't see Geale winning that fight. He doesn't have the power to discourage 'Abrahams' and will get broken down by Arthurs constant aggression and body punching and stopped in the middle rounds. Geale needs to step up the competition gradually against the likes of Soliman, Taylor etc then fight a few decent American or European contenders before he jumps in there with a top fighter like Abraham. So many Australian fighters make this mistake like Pittman did last year, like Glenn Kelly did (he wasn't going to beat RJJ anyway) and it hurts them because the level in competition from a NZ Middleweight Champ to a World Champ is just too much to overcome in one jump. You need to adjust yourself to the difference in aggression that they bring, the difference in style and most of all the difference in power and when they taste it without having tasted it before it makes for a harder fight then it should have been.

Arthur by way of brutal beating for about 6 or 7 rounds.

Surely this can't be true, bad decision I feel, Soliman would have been the perfect step up fight next which would be hard enough.
Against Abraham they are sending him to get crucified.

This is the problem with up and coming Aussie fighters.

They fight Thai cab drivers for their first 15 bouts and have a perfect record. Depending on the organisation they usually win a IBO or WBO minnow title, that then places them in the top 10 on one of the big organisations who have a champion looking to get a good hometown mandatory payday. Not only that but the boxing community can't complain because they're fighting a guy with a perfect record.

The Aussie fighter either takes the fight and payday or sticks to fighting bums .........Problem is if they don't take the fight who knows when they will get another shot.

So basically they go from fighting stiffs to the number one in the world...............It's crazy but true.

    The answerin my opinion is:

The top 3 or 4 in each weight division need to be fighting each other continously. Geale should be fighting Hamdan,Taylor,Soliman etc

Agreed. Terrible match making really. Arthur has the sort of one punch power to really derail the career of someone like Geale. I struggle to see how any good other than $$$$$ will come out of this.

I suppose you never turn back an opportunity, because at the end of the day, who knows if you'll ever get another shot. I'll never blame the fighter, but the logical progression would be to Soliman etc.

It would be great to see an upcoming fighter come through the ranks & a get a shot at the belt & be in agood position to win it. Geale will be toatlly outclassed. No fight he has had yet will prepare him for what abraham will throw at him. Abraham KO 3 rds.

I agree 100%. I'll probably sound like an old codger (even though I'm in my 20s) when I say this, but back in the day Australian fighters were more likely to succeed on the World stage because they had to go through one another to reach the top. They had to win the Australian title to get a shot at the Commomwealth/British Empire title and then they had to win that against a top British or African fighter to get World ranked. Guys like Hector Thompson or Tony Mundine or Ron Richards who came up fighting legitimate threats would all be World champions in todays alphabet soup because they had the talent but didn't have anywhere near as many options to get there other then to go through the best in the World and in the era's of Thompson and Mundine especially the best in the World happened to be one of the best (if not the best) of all-time (I'm talking about Duran and Monzon for any newbies). It'll never be as tough and challenging to get world rated as long as there is four sanctioning bodies with about 20 meaningless regional titles which go out to the promoter with the most money against whoever they can be bothered matching them up against instead of the real top guys fighting other real top guys!

Going from fighting imports to Abraham is bad news.

I agree with the above post, you should progress though titles, not just get a decent strap, fight a few times and wait for a world ranking.

I love Geale :smooch but he needs to test himself vs Sammy first, i know he spars Bika, Sam and more, but thats sparring.

Could you imagine what Abraham would do to him? It could be career ending :|

Ouch, that's gonna hurt, will Geale be allowed to wear a helmet?
