I would much prefer this to a Kirkland fight at the moment. If HBO wants to go the Kirkland route as a potential opponent, it's smarter for them to give James at least one decent fight at 160 to build legitimacy, maybe against Rubio. Ah, who am I kidding- that's just a move to satisfy the hardcore crowd, that fight would do gangbusters even without it. Still, I prefer the timeline of Geale in April and Martinez in the fall or winter (if winter, schedule a stay-busy fight). Kirkland is the perfect fallback plan in case either of those fights don't pan out.
Golovkin did. Here's an excerpt from an interview with Geale. "DG - It was at the East Asian Games in Japan and he beat me on points. To be honest I fought like crap. I think he got me by 9 points or so, so it was just a fight to forget for me. That fight wouldn't carry any weight at all if we fought as professionals - I can hardly even remember it. At that tournament the Kazakhstan fighters all had good footwork, and good power and the thing I really noticed at the time was that they really used the distance well in their fights. That's something that I've learnt over the years. A hell of a lot has changed since we met as amateurs."
I will be surprised if Geale takes the fight as he ducked Golovkin at all costs in the past. If the fight does happen Golovkin wins easy by KO in 2 rounds or less. Remember Geale was beaten by the glass jawed bum Darren Barker
You mean glass hipped. Stop making it sound like Sturm felled barker for the count with punches. It helps to watch the fights boy.
Exactly. His hip blew out. I believe he had issues with it in the past, maybe even a surgery. Sucks it happened to him. Sturm is ducker-in-chief of GGG. I think Barker would have fought GGG down the road for unification, so I was hoping Barker would beat Sturm.
Yeah: They're call Mon-GEALE-oids! On a side note: Looks like we can add Kirkland to the list of Mallards that DUCKED GGG. Not like it even matters. The same crowd are going to ***** about whomever he fights.
I agree. I would be suicide to Kirkland's trying-to-get-back-on-track career. Plus, Kirkland is more naturally a 154 pounder and there are plenty of interesting fights for him there. His management would have to be worthless to put him in the ring with GGG.
Golovkin will knock Geale out........................He will also knock Kirkland out, no doubt about it..............Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world at this time. He is trying to get the best middleweights to fight him, but so far they all have been running, esp. Quillin.............
Geale hasn't a prayer. i'll be surprised if it goes more than 3 rounds. first punch to hurt him will be an overhand right.
