The Comer and McKinnon knock downs were nothing really...he came back to smash Gary in the next round I think. The Oti was a solid one that he bounced back from quickly. The only one that I would worry anyone is the Nonoy KDs...the fight wasn't televised and I would be surprised if anyone here saw it..but from reports he was in a lot of trouble..that being said at the time the respected trainer Billy Hussein made a point of posting about the fight saying something to the effect that Geale looked brilliant except for that 2nd round..which is significant because Billy would usually only post about his own fighters but he decided to clarify things because people were making a big deal about it..some who hadn't seen the fight saying Geale was lucky to win it..which apparantly wasn't the case at all. At the time Geale was blasting through guys a little easier than he was expected to and he was considered a puncher by many..in the fights I had seen he did look more of an aggressive swarmer type...after this scare he reverted back to a lot of the things that made him a good amatuer and was more cautious...but these days seems to have grown in confidence again to be a little more aggressive, as shown by his walking down of a reasonably dangerous puncher in Adama, mixing the two approaches well. I think his chin will be an issue against guys like GGG..but I think it will get the job done against Sturm, whom I do expect will hurt him and test it but won't have him in serious trouble like Gennady could.
MacKinnon put Geale down in the 8th, only to be knocked down twice himself in the same round. Comer knocked him down in the 7th, to then be KO'd in the 8th. He fought Comer again in his next fight, and TKO'd him in 2. Haven't seen that one. I've seen this and Geale was fine. Boxrec quotes Geale as 'lucky to see the round out', which is complete BS IMO. Yep, sounds fair. I even think Geale will have a good enough game plan for GG if they ever meet.
Douglas could have got up earlier, he followed the refs count. That is what you are meant to do. Don't google it think about it.
I was at that fight., mundine dropped geale with a simple little punch, nothing in it really and daniel in my opinion wasnt phased and went on to win the fight. (Without the help of mundines wraps that continously came undone giving him time out. Nearly as bad as dannys mouthgaurd spitting against vldkjfhfhfhhr)
That was one of those flash knock downs, that probably cost Danny the fight with Mundine,he got up as though nothing had happened, but as we know 10-8 round against him..Danny Geale to win on Sunday, unaminous or split, otherwise they will rob him..how good is his footwork in the ring,,You are an absolute gentlemen Danny,i hope you bring home the bacon..
Yeah I take that with a grain of salt but I vividly remember the hoo hah at the time..some were saying he was all at sea, some were saying it was all overblown. Glad you can confirm that.
You must change your name to **** face and let Geale alone. He don't deserve your **** talk on boxing forum
all boxers hit the canvas at some point. it getting up that makes them special. geale has proven he has a great chin and determination. getting sparked and getting knocked down are two completely different tests of ones ability to take a puch. geale hasnt been sparked, unconcious. hes been hit solid, got kd, and jumps straight back up. i recon that speaks volumes for his chin. hes hard to spark.
