I'm not taking away from marquez anything, in fact he deserves his belt now which is even better thatn pac's belt. but anyone wonder what happened to casa there, he looked really old. In his last fight, he was supposedly being dazed by katsidis, and it would seem that casa could not even punch. but to no avail, he still threw that powerful left hook while he was supposedly dazed. and this time, marquez was not even peppering him with too many shots. many but not too many.

before, he was labeled "unbreakable" bec. no one could knock him out. when corrales knocked him down, he got up and look as strong as ever.

so what do you guys think happened to the "unbreakable"?
    a. Marquez got a lot of power now??
    b. Casa got really old??

I didn't see an old Casa in there, I saw a very sharp and well prepared Casa. Not prime, but far from shot.

Marquez has always been a powerful puncher, not a 1 punch guy obviously but he certainly has the power to hurt his opponent.

Casa has been in a lot of fights. He was not in his Prime for Prime, but he was close too it, Marquez landed a perfectly placed shot and then another, and Casa is 37.

    something had to give eventually

While I give Marquez credit, and I am a fan of his, you could obviously see Casa was not in his prime. It seemed to me Marquez was also not at his sharpest last night, he seemed a bit slower than usual, and it took Marquez some time to warm up to the fight. Casa was winning the fight when he had his jab going for him. Casa started strong, started to fade, was down on points and got a bit desperate which made him open up and take the risk of getting ko'd, and Marquez took full advantage of the opportunity, and of every opportunity Casa gave him. Of course, he also created his own opportunities, as he still boxed masterful at times with some good combinations (i.e throwing to the body & to the head combo)

I am not sure what to think of Marquez at 135... he can hang, but could he be dominant? I don't think another fight with Pac would suit him at the higher weight.

If Casa would have been in his prime, would the outcome have been different? From what I saw last night, I can say yes.

I dont know about you guys, but Marquez got hit too much with straight left hands for my taste. If he intends on rematching Pac in the near future, he has to defend his chin better for those type of shots.

Prime Casamayor was a world class fighter, and would give anybody fits at 135. It's also worth taking into account, Marquez is only two years younger, and has been the game a long time aswell. Neither fighter were in their prime, and it was Casamayor's natural weight. Marquez done a hell of a job stopping Casamayor, a climax not many people predicted, so everybody should be giving him props.

Casamayor is a better fighter technically than Pacquiao, that is why Marquez was getting hit. It was a bad matchup for Marquez. He was smaller, and he was fighting a counterpuncher therefore he has to engage all of the fighting. He did well to come out on top and stopping a guy like Casamayor.

I would think Marquez would beat Pacquiao at 135 just like he did at the lower weights.

Pacquiao beat David Diaz, everybody raved about him, and now Marquez beat a better fighter and by equalling dramatic fashion. Marquez is the man at 135.
