Mousasi can be such a frustrating fighter to watch, he's capable of beating any MW in the world but sometimes he looks like he's just going through the motions and will struggle with lesser opponents e.g. king mo, Jardine, Hall, Shlemenko etc.

I think the most appropriate decision would be a draw. Mousasi 1st, Shlemenko 3rd and 2nd was a drawn, because Shlemenko won the first four minutes in stand-up, and then Mousasi got takedown. Fight was certainly close and if judging by damage or the spectacularity of fighters I would give Shlemenko a victory

With wins over Jacare, Henderson, Belfort, Weidman he has a great resume and he's beaten every MW he's faced in the last decade apart from the obviously great Machida.

But he is prone to these no shows, maybe it's to do with how active he is as a fighter I don't know. But Lawal even at LHW shouldn't have been an issue, Jardine is good but shouldn't be competitive with a prime Moose really, Hall again was a poor show.

The early losses you can understand because most strikers struggle with the initial transition to MMA particularly with the ground game but still there's 6 people now who have beaten him and you could argue on paper Jacare is the only who should have emerged victorious.

Why was this bout so close, with so many poor shows it makes you wonder if actually the great wins are the blip and not the other way round.

Maybe Shlemenko is better than originally thought or Mousasi has gotten old after being in so many tough fights over the years,or a combination of the two.

Musashi didn't use a very good strategy. He better as a wrestler than Shlemenko and and he was definitely heavier, he could avoid fighting in the stand up and constantly try to get takedown where instead of taking back and trying to get the choke he could keep Shlemenko on the ground and beat him

Murika screws over another Russian fighter with their bigoted, corrupt, State athletic commission judges. If Shlemenko had won by KO they would have just falsified his drug test like they did when he KO'd Manhoef.

Pandemic corruption against EE fighters makes me ****ing sick.

Just finished watching Moussasi was very lucky that last round must have been close to a 10-8 round also for Sclemenko

2 was tight.... Could go to either man. But easy to see why the judges decided to go with Mousasi as he has Sclemenko's back for the last minute of the round and threaten with the rear naked choke.

10-9 Shlemenko. 29-28 for either or is fine... No robbery. Considering how fights are scored in the US and in general it's not hard to see why they gave Mousasi the 2nd. That said.... Shlemenko won the event as some would say, and almost certainly would have won outright had this been a 5 rounder.

It's just a shame that this wasn't a 5 rounder with the belt on the line... Don't get why Bellator haven't made their main events 5 rounds like the UFC. This was a big debut of a top 10 fighter against a long time star of the org he hopped ship to.
