    I know you guys get fed up of the Brits, but we've lost one of our great commentators, Harry Carpenter, aged 84. In many ways, he kept the sport going in those 80s years when we really only had Honeyghan and Bruno.

    Just hope you guys know who he is.

    Im not from the UK but i know who he was,i remember seeing him interviewing Bruno after some of his fights.

    Don't agree that he kept the sport going in the 80's though. Boxing's always been big in the UK, always will be. And we had lots more than Bruno and Honeyghan.

    All them fighters you`ve mentioned was about all we had in the 80`s incl Honeyghan and Bruno.Pity Kirkland Laing went awol after beating hands of stone Roberto Duran and Collin Jones couldn`t do it against Don Curry but here you go.

    A true gentleman and a superb caller of fights!

    Harry and Reg Gutteridge the best 2 fight commentators I ever heard!

    Yup. Harry must have had some fantastic memories. He covered all the big fights for the BBC over the years. You'll be missed greatly. A true gent as well.
