I'll mention your sentiment to him, d. I'm sure he'll be very appreciative.

Sad news, remember him as a classy champ at 130 pounds.

He's still a classy guy, d, but walks around at 165 now. His doctors advise packing on the pounds. He may lose a lot when he starts chemo.

This is a very dangerous, potentially painful cancer. This looks horrible. As someone who just buried his father to sudden cancer, I hope nothing but the best for Genaro and his family and hope they appreciate whatever time they have left.

This is tragic, still he can beat it.
Genaro was a good fighter. He has my blessings.

Genaro was such a talented boxer and a gentleman outside of the ring.
I have always thought Hernandez was vastly underrated and always enjoyed watching his bouts.I remember when he outboxed Emmanuel Steward's boxer-JL Ivey(I have that bout on DVD) I knew he would one day be a champion. Also remember his body shot that knocked out Raul Perez-beautiful punch. And then after the bout Hernandez let Perez leave the ring with Hernandez's title-pure class.
I always thought that when Hernandez fought DE La Hoya that De La Hoya was just tooo big-he looked like he was 2 weightclasses above Hernandez. If De La Hoya would have met Hernandez at Jr.lightweight it would have been a different outcome.
