The pre Watson2 Eubank, was a different character. One who I think is often underestimated in this forum.
I'll take that version of Eubank to hammer out a points win. He'd hurt Fullmer a lot more than the other way around imo.
Eubanks was a big fish in a little pond...a non-player on the world stage....whereas Fullmer was a tried and tested 2 time world champion. He fought...Eubanks posed...the essential difference. Fullmer would have mauled, batter and brutalized Eubank, ""whilst"" taking everything the Brit could dish out for a conclusive 15 round decision. You can't pose but so much in a 15 round contest...Fullmer would show him that for sure.
Im not a fan of Fullmer, but I think he would be too strong for Eubank who liked to fight at a slow pace and take parts of rounds off.Fullmer would not let him dictate the pace,he would set it,and it would be too hot for Eubanks.
You couldn't pose against Fullmer, period. If you did, one would be slathered in punches. And if you clinched with Fullemr, you had better hold on tight to both those arms because if one was free, it would be banging you on top of the head, in the ribs, on the kneecaps, so there is no room at all here to take a breath. Don't take my word, everyone can just watch the films of Fullmer. Seriously, I am surprised this subject was made. Fullmer was a guy who beat SRR, Basilio, Paret, Pender and top contenders Gil Turner, Rocky Castellani, Charles Humez, Florentino Fernandez, Spider Webb, Del Flanagan and even had enough left in the tank to hold Dick Tiger to a draw in his penultimate fight. And we're matching him up with who? I see a wide 15 round decision for Fullmer in a bout that wouldn't be pretty and marked with Eubank's continuous complaints to the ref in every clinch.
I agree with this, although my British blood can see a crazy explosive KO from the bigger Eubank that takes Fullmer out.
