What outcomes would you predict if these two warriors fought each other four times?

I, who has been accused as an NOSTALGIA poster unfairly , and who had seen Gene Fullmer ringside, believe that GGG most certainly stops Fullmer however many times they fought each other...Gene Fullmer was awkward, rough and tough would be
battered by GGG, cut up and stopped eventually. Never mind the
bromide' who did GGG ever beat that was topnotch"?. What I have seen of Golovkin so far leads me to believe we are
witnessing one of the greatest middleweights of all-time based
on what this baby faced assassin brings into the ring. I also feel
that he has the innate ability to rise to the occasion against any middleweight from the 1940s on. Sue me !

That jab would pulverize Fullmer. He's be wearing a crimson mask early and have the ref pulling him out late in three of the four. Fullmer makes it to the finish in one of them, but still takes a shellacking.

the same thing a prime sugar ray would have done, except ray was at least 15lbs lighter than golovkin in the ring and fulmer would have to fight much cleaner in golovkins era.

a golovkin who has had 150 pro fights and a retirement could easily do as bad as ray did vs fulmer over 15 rounds with a more lenient ruleset.

Let's leave Robinson out of this...it's about Golovkin and Fullmer. Golovkin and Robinson are two very different fighters. What outcomes would you predict?

GGG out boxes Fullmer rather easily. I never thought much of the Mormon

About the same. GGG wins 4-0 2Ko's

Gene was tough as nails, but his lack of power is going to mean GGG has no worries about the incoming.

Although it might really raise some eyebrows GGG seems to get hit less than the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson. I once brought up this topic to a big time Sugar Ray fan. His reply was something like because he pressed the action, he was open to shots. Makes sense.

Yet when GGG presses the action, he doesn't get hit as often because his punches strike the fear and hurt, and he's good at blocking with his gloves.

A possibility would be Fullmer fighting his "B" style, like he did Fernandez, Tiger (ll) and both Basilio fights....and he'd still lose to GG but go the distance. The rematch would see GGG carve Gene up and batter him to an early tko.

K, let me remind you that Ray Robinson as a MW was about 154 pounds and almost 6 ft" in height, so where do you get your math that the Robinson who grew into a MW was 15 lbs LIGHTER
than GGG. And let me remind you that Robby was but 30 years of age when he morphed into a middleweight in 1951. Younger than GGG is today. I saw Robinson as a MW ko Randy Turpin at the Polo Grounds in a sensational fight and I don't Know the outcome of a SRR / GGG fight in the MW division, that is how high I regard Golovkin based on his awesome toughness and talent he has shown thus far...

golovkin was apparently about 168 in the ring last weekend, 15 lbs seemed about right, maybe a bit high since 168 - 154 is only 14, but even 10 lbs is significant when pitting them against the same opposition.

i totally agree golovkin looks great, he was damn near perfect vs lemuix. I am not in the 'he's only fighting bums' camp either, but he isn't fighting guys as proven as robinson's opposition was and i think it's a few years too early for comparisons with the greats.

K, we are talking about both SRR and GGG weighing in either the day before or the same day. Either way Robinson was a MW...
And a few meaningless pounds separated them both. Yes it IS too early to summarize the place GGG holds in the MW alltime
pantheon of fighters, but my instincts and careful observations of
seeing top middleweight fighters from the 1940s on, compel me to post that GGG would be a threat to anyone I have seen in the 160 lb. division...

Prime for prime? I would be stunned by a stoppage. Fullmer survived enormous punchers and hugely physical men.

But, presuming Golovkin can do 15 comfortably, or that the distance is twelve, i'd pick Golovkin to win a series 3-1 barring bad decisions.

Seems somebody isn't convinced SRR could be GGG... I'm not one of them.
