The Tony Zale before WW2 when he served 4 years, would have battered Gene Fullmer badly... so would have the MWS of that time such as Freddie Steele, Al Hostak, Fred Apostoli, Solly Kreiger, and the young tough MW Billy Conn...Fullmer was tough and awkward but not in the class of those boys...
This fight could have many varying results but I go for a prime Zale to beat a prime Fullmer. Fillmer was a massive handful for any middleweight but so is Zale, I can see Zale taking anything that Gene can dish out but sooner or later Fullmer has to go down from that great left hook that Zale had, this fight could be a classic as great as the first two Zale v Graziano fights but Zale was great against the wild men and Fullmer fits that category
