In Fullmer's era, only Mr. Tiger and Florentino (The Ox) Fernandez matched Fullmer's strength....and Fullmer changed to a boxing style for his SD win over Fernandez.

I'm not a fan of either fighter, Fullmer was a crude ,dirty fighter,Hopkins more cynical and crafty in his ploys. I see Bernard on the floor protesting about the Utah Billy Goat's head butts and hitting him in the nuts in retaliation this could be a middleweight Pep v Saddler brawl, not a shining night for pugilism.Winner? I surprise myself by picking the mink farmer Fullmer by dec.

Sounds like you’re describing the ancient Hopkins of 2006-2010 and not the prime 1997-2001 sharp hitting fresh Hopkins

Hopkins in his prime could hit, had a good enough work rate, and was leaps and bounds better than Fullmer as a boxer...Hopkins would expose genes non existent defense and tear him up with lead right hands and combinations...Fullmer would score points with his work rate energy.. but he didn’t have the power, athleticism, or speed to seriously threaten Hopkins.

    Hopkins unanimous

Man he gets underrated in fantasy matchups....give it another 20 years he’ll get more respect.

Hopkins throughout his career always liked dictating the pace. Fullmer wont let that happen. That makes it very interesting to me
