A chin of granite against a monster puncher. How do you guys see this one playing out? Is Mugabi able to force a stoppage by beating on Fullmer, or does Gene wear The Beast out and then turn the tables on him?

Fullmer outstrengths him and mauls him badly over the 15 round distance. Gene was a full level over Mugabi.

I dont Think John is Built to Stay on top and protect a Lead , I dont think he can ration his efforts, he is a sprinter, a Kamikaze with a Punctured Fuel Tank
Its Mean Gene for me, King of the S****yard.

I think Fullmer is overated but I see him as too strong for Mugabi to top.

Fun fight to watch. Mean Gene absorbing those shots. And watch Mugabi--like most big hitters--falter when the opponent doesn't go.

I love watching fights like this where the guy with the top chin absorbs like 85% of the hard punches in the fight. the hitter is the guy unable to absorb much and won't see the final bell.

Mugabi was much better at 154 though and the big strong tough middle's are just a bad bad matchup.

Fullmer would rough up Mugabi so bad that he would never want a rematch...on second though, Gene might even force a 1th round stoppage.

Fullmer wears him down and wins. Mugabi was too one dimensional, Fullmer could do a lot more.
