Fullmer...he mauls and roughs up Benn for a close 15 round decision.

    Fulmer. He's more durable.

I find it refreshing and forward thinking that the Kimbo Butterbean thread has more action than this match up of schlub middles

Hmmm. I gotta go gene. If he can take shots from Lausse and fernandez he can take Benn's punches and hammer out a close decision.

Benn had great power but not great staying power. I would pick him in a lot of matchups but Fullmer was a real ironman and certainly capable of weathering (after some dodgy moments) the Benn storm. Especially over 15.

If the referee stopped Fullmer from kidney and rabbit punching, Benn would winn by a huge margin. Look at Fullmers fights against Robinson - He hardly landed a punch on the legitimate target area.

If Fulmer could stand up to him, he could out-last him. I don't know if he could stand up to Benn's lightning bombs though.

Fullmer is a bit underrated as a boxer ,sure most of the time he would maul his opponents round after round but when he felt like it he could box too, his performances against Basilio specially the second one show that he was more than just a mauler i think he could do to Benn what he did to Basilio and win by decision or maybe by late KO if its 15 rounds with Benn shooting his load in the first half of the fight and then be pummeled into submission.

Would be a hell of a fight, I think as durable as he was, I would go for a points win or very late stoppage for Fulmer
