Leonard gets gored by a bull who smashez thru all the shoeshine bull****. Ends up like Paret.

Fullmer would be another guy, like Monzon, who wouldn't be at all tentative and confused like Hagler was. Like The Morlocks said, the image of a bull comes to mind...smashing though and manhandling the "matador" in this case...mistreating Kid 7-Up brutally,...smothering him and winning big...

I find Fullmer to be overrated, more of a fighter who basks in the glow of his better opponents.

I think Ray can outslick him and get the decision. Fullmer lacks the dynamism to be a proper foil to Leonard's activity.

Interesting Fullmer is a bit of a crude mauler who would frustrate Leonard. The ring size could be a major factor as it was against Hagler, although if we are talking a prime Fullmer that may not matter a whole lot. Also how it is reffed and can Leonard effectively tie up Fullmer when the pressure gets to intense.

I like Fullmer in an ugly decision over 12 or 15 with a slim possibility of stopping Ray 13-15.

The footage I saw of Fulmer didn't impress me too much.

On the other hand, Leonard is often overrated.

But, I lean towards Leonard here.

ray's just not a middleweight. not big enough or strong enough. most decent middleweights would cause him problems. look at the trouble he had with Geraldo who had him staggering

Bad matchup for Ray, I think, and not at his best weight. I’ll take Gene by 2-3 points over 15 rounds. Mugging and mauling is an art form and Fulmer mastered winning ugly.
