Red, how do you come up with this stuff? Timeless bro!
Sidebar: how can I post a picture I found in one of my threads? Throughout my accounting career, I've never mastered the art of the internet. :)
Going to Vegas for Xmas; wife's idea; we need a vacation after 2 years but I'm excited. She still tells me: "Let's take a week and go to Florida and you can see your friend Red Cobra and we'll all have a good time"! :)

Wonderful read, and one that makes me wonder again just how good Greb really was for his time, as much as it asks to reconsider Tunney.

That said, I'd still take Ali over anyone for my mythical representative against the aliens.

Tunney was great at what? Beating 160 pound fighters like Harry Greb or beating a boozed up faded Jack Dempsey who himself was overrated. Tunney was a product of his era. But compared to the modern era Tunney was a 5th tier tomato can.

Tunney was a great fighter, short heavyweight career does not put him as high as he may have been able to obtain. I think he would have beaten Sharkey and Schmeling and Baer but would lose to Louis in a Billy Conn like fight
