    Slow beatdown until stoppage?
Outside of Ingo 1 and Liston (you want to compare Liston's power to Gene's? Not to mention Ingo's right!)
Who ever stopped Floyd? Ali? Look at their two fights.
Of course, my apologies here but I've never liked comparing fighters from vastly different eras, but no way does Tunney STOP Patterson. I'll give you a decision but the key here IMO, is that Floyd fought several guys that had the Tunney style (and stayed erect) whereas Gene never really faced a Patterson style.
Again, I don't like different era comparisons (Example: the Klits would have been gangly 220 pounders in the 40's early 50's and Floyd would have been a 200 pound lean machine in the 21st century, not to mention Gene would have been a 200 pound classic boxer in the same era.) It's just so hard to make a call.
    My weak $0.02

It goes without saying that Patterson faced tougher competition.
