Posters usually get smarter with time and mistakes they post,i guess you are clearly in the latter?Even Super Macho Man vs The Sandman in Tysons punch out would be more note worthy discussion than this one,to make things worse you actually have tunney the winner.

I don't like Tunney here because Tyson's handspeed puts the Marine in jeopardy every time he gets in range.
Tunney was a very capable boxer and an underated hitter but I don't like this matchup for him. he would have to run all night and box off the back foot , which was his forte, but this isn't a soft rusty Dempsey, this is a prime Iron Mike who would be about 30lbs heavier and faster of hand.

Why do people give Tunney such a good chance against big fighters? What big heavyweight did Tunney ever face? What big puncher did Tunney ever face outside of a inactive 32 year old Dempsey? Tunneys resume at heavyweight is terribly thin and he drew the color line

Tunneys low guard, susceptible chin, bad habit of leaning back to avoid punches would spell recipe for disaster against mike Tyson

 

You'll probably improve ,you certainly couldn't get any dumber!

 

Many fighters have a low guard, you can get away with it if you have fast feet and good reflexes eg Ali .The reason why I don't like Tunney in this match is, Tyson's excellent hand-speed and good lateral movement
. Tunney would be loping around the ring as fast as his wheels could carry him ,scoring with a few jabs and occasional right crosses down the pipe, but once Tyson starts finding his range he would soon slow up,those fleet legs with body shots..
I wouldn't say Tunney had a susceptible chin.

Tunney had great fight and pretty good hand speed but I am think Tyson could get to him early with those combo's but he did survive a rusty Dempsey and if he could survive the 1st 6 rds against Tyson he could do it over 15 rds My pick is Tyson by KO but lesser men than Gene have went the distance with Tyson, Tillis for 1

Yea maybe in the twilight zone or if you filled Tysons shoes with cement and gave Tunney some super soldier serum! :nono

 

From the little I have seen of Tunney, I have him as a good mover/boxer, but I feel that the first time a fired up Tyson had Gene on the ropes, it would be curtains fairly early for Tunney. I just don't think he has what it takes to beat a Tyson.
