The only problem with these questions are people could also ask what fighter did Tyson fight with Tunney’s experience, mobility, handspeed, and conditioning.

Tyson definitely had the power to end Tunney if he connects clean, but Tunney isn’t a big easy target like most of Tyson’s opponent’s were, so Tyson would have a hard time landing those big knockout shots and for once Tyson wouldn’t have the hand speed or mobility advantage over his opponent.

Tunney loved clinching up shorter opponnents and Tyson tended to start losing his cool and making mistakes when guys excessively clinched him and Tyson didn’t have much when guys stayed in close, so I could see this being a very tough match for Tyson.

I think this fight could go either way.

Exactly. Its one thing to say Tunney wasnt intimidated by a Dempsey who had been out of the ring for three years and was 20+ pounds lighter than Tyson. But when you consider Tunney wanted nothing to do with any black light heavyweight and was a master of cherry picking Id say that Tunney wouldnt give Tyson the time of day and if he did hed get his ass kicked royally. Tyson was no Tom Heeney, certainly no washed up Carpentier who Tunney hit with everything but the kitchen sink and couldnt stop him until Carp tried to milk the DQ.
