I whole-heartedly agree. Tunney looks better than all the above on film, and quite a bit better than numbers 1 and 3.

Jack Dempsey, Harry Greb, Tommy Loughran, Tommy Gibbons, Georges Carpentier.

Jack Dempsey was the top man at HW.
Tommy Gibbons was the leading contender.
Greb all but cleaned out the heavyweight division.

    Numerous.

Resumes don't necessarily win fights though. Langford beat plenty of men but also lost to plenty of men. He was not what I'd call unbeatable.

I agree that Langford was not unbeatable, in fact I'd favour Tunney to have the style to outmanouever him.

Fascinating battle though; one guy, short, humongous puncher, can chase all night. The other, fast, evasive, hard to keep up with. Thestyles clash if you will.

I'm going out on a limb and saying I thik Jack Johnson looks fairly pitiful on film. Effective? No doubt. But I hate watching him.

One thing I didn't take into account is the rounds. 10 rounds I'd go for Tunney, if we're going pre-Walker Law then I think maybe Langford can catch up to Tunney late and stop him.
