What fighters, past or present, do you consider to be once in a generation level talents?

    RJJ
    SRL
    SRR
    Floyd
    Pacquiao
    Ali
    Mike Tyson
    Usyk
    Inoue

    Tyson Fury

    The first of his kind

The next step up from "modern super heavys" - Bowe was the first then Vitali/Wlad really defined it, 230 pound 6'4"+ BIG men. Gas tanks aren't typically great. Fury however even bigger but stamina even greater. A true step in athletes. He's like Jack Johnson. Ahead of his time. Bigger, better and sexier than the rest.

Fury is about 20% bigger with 20% greater stamina, typically you'd expect the stamina to fall not go up but he breaks the mould.

    Solid list

    James Toney

Roberto Duran is better than Pacquiao and Floyd, why isn't he in there?

    The dude beat Ray Leonard
Had well over 100 fights in 5 separate decades
Pushed the toughest mw ever over 15 rounds, which was no mean feat for a former Lightweight

    Also LW goat

Óscar de la Hoya was a hell of a generational talent too. Even if I hated him back then when he was active. A reference to his whole generation, no doubt.

... love how these 'once in a generational talents' overlap each other at times.

    I would add:

Marvin Hagler - a dense skull that meant he could withstand more punishment than the average, combine that with his boxing ability.

Henry Armstrong - a heart 1/3 larger than the average man, he would turn it up when other fighters were tiring. He lost to SRR but was out of his prime.

Tyson Fury - compare his athleticism to Valuev, and it's mega impressive at his size. I also don't know where he gets his engine from, hopefully its natural...

Currently Loma, Usyk and Chocalatito as he’s still active.

Future thoughts - Ennis, A.Aziz, Dalton, Keyshawn Davis

I don't think he was as generational.
For me the guys listed above were just freaks and one of a kind fighters who were all very unique in their own ways, I initially wrote down Duran but decided not to include him, I know he has all the accolades to be a generational talent but I am not WOWed by him like I was by Loma, Floyd, Manny, SRL and RJJ.
