Genna will have a hard time to fight a good name even if he grabs that WBC belt

Neither Canelo nor Lara are on Gennady's level.

    There's nobody to test him.

Ward is now a light heavyweight, and on his way out of the sport with a bum knee.

If Degale gets some momentum, he might be the only fighter able to give Gennady a good challenge in the near future.

At this rate he'll have the most MW title defences and the highest MW KO ratio in history. If that's going nowhere then sign me up

Until he fight someone worthy i will shut my mouth until then this kind of opinions ARE COMING JUST FROM GGG GROUPIES because is not based on pure speculation, i hear that **** with MARGARITO on his prime, PAUL WILLIAMS on his prime, WINKY WRIGHT on his prime, EDWIN VALERO on his prime, and too many that just looked amazing start his own groupie cult fans base and is the same issue , i really like GGG but i will not make staments until he fight someone worthy of your kind of worship towards him

Good points. But, it's not just physical attributes. Hopkins has faced top competition across 3 divisions. And age hasn't really been on his side, size hasn't been either in many cases. GGG hasn't faced that caliber of opposition, he's not a young fighter, his team seems risk averse, and he likely won't be fighting into his late 40's early 50's. This is why I feel he is not cut from that particular cloth. Hopkins is in a class by himself.

Im not a big fan of iron mike but i will say trevor birbeck and larry holmes are not really good opposition? can you give something related to that level that GGG ever fought?? come on i read better things from you instead just keep yourself on groupie mode...

What part of interim titles don't count can't you understand ?

How did he make 15 WBA defenses when the belt was held by Felix Sturm and Daniel Geale after him?

Glovkin only got that belt outright when he beat Geale a few fights back.

Thats like saying Povetkin was a HW champ with 4 defenses of the title. Everybody knows he was never a HW champion in his life.

Its like saying Glovkin has WBC title defenses cos he held the diamond belt or whatever garbage trinket it is that he holds.

Hopkins won legitimate titles from legit champions. The only legit champ GGG ever beat was Lemieux. And even he was a paper champ - winning a vacant belt against a nobody:tired:dead:hi:

Hopkin's achievements are unique indeed. But one can have a second look at them:

.He lost to Dawson and drew (in my mind) with 37 year old Calzone and Winky Wright. He didn't win a single rd vs Kovalev.

.Pavlik, Pascal and Cloud seem great on paper, but each of them were flawed in their own way. And he ko'd neither.

. Arguably, his best wins at the higher weights are against prime Pascal and 38 year old Tarver. Again, he Ko'd neither, and was severely shook on multiple occasions vs Jean.

Do these 2 wins rank higher than what Hagler did to Hearns, or what Duran did to Leonard ?

    Highly debatable.

34 year old Gennady keeps kaoying absolutely everyone with unreal ease.
Yet both Hagler and Duran were practically done by 34 ( Hagler retired at 32 after the Leonard bout)

After he stops Canelo and Lara, people will still claim he hasn't fought anyone.

    It's a no-win situation.

Gennady's WBA title is the same title Hagler defended vs Hearns. :deal

    Look it up on boxrec.

    It's on paper and official.

And there's nothing internet keyboard warriors like you can do about it.

If you want to argue about Sturm and Geale ( who both famously ducked Gennady when he was the official challenger), then i will argue about Wilfredo Gomez defending his belt against a 20 year old thai with just 2 boxing fights on his record.

    There you are: http://boxrec.com/title/WBA/50?title=WBA&division=Middleweight

Gennady won against Nunez in 2010 the same WBA title Hagler defended vs Hearns in 1985. :hi: :deal

The WBA ELEVATED Gennady their super champion in 2014 when he beat Geale. Gennady didn't ask for anything; it's the WBA crooks who wanted more sanctionning dineros by multiplying their titles.

The middle defenses and successive kos will still register in the record books, WBA or super WBA notwithstanding, because Gennady was ELEVATED ( which is different than VACATING)

    :hi: :thumbsup

Now, go ahead, girls and boys, and keep arguing until you get blue in the face. :yep

Smartypants didn't realize boxrec differenciates correctly between the regular and super WBA titles.

    But all is not lost.

Smartypants will comeback here arguing he knows better than boxrec.

    :nut

    Get ready. :admin

Berbick and 38 year old Holmes are no better competition than Geale and Lemieux, in their respective divisions.

Mike never beat any great fighter in their prime (and not so prime); Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe.
