Genna will have a hard time to fight a good name even if he grabs that WBC belt

I think there are fighters at Super Welter and Super Middle that would give him lots of problems. But, he is in no rush to test himself, so we may never know.

As far as what you say about Hopkins best wins at higher weights, let's not forget Hopkins was not in his prime either.

I give GGG his credit, he is a very good fighter. But, he has not shown himself to want to do much more than coast on the current hype. That may change at some point. But, let's consider he is 33 y/o. I don't see him having a pro career where he will be taking on monsters like a Kovalev at 50 y/o. Like I said...he is just not cut from that type of cloth. People should just enjoy him for what he is instead of giving him a status he has not yet earned.

    At super-welter there's none: he's 4 to 1 fav over Borelo.
Lara won't be able to run for more than 4 rds.

At super middle, the biggest threat might be Degale, and to a lesser degree, Ramirez ( who's going to take the belt from Abraham).
Gennedy would be a clear fav (3 to 1, or better) over both.

You keep bringing back the cloth thing; yet, it goes both ways.

Bernard didn't have the punch to make his victories easier. He didn't have the invincibility aura that discourages fighters and makes them quit.

Hopkins would have banked 30 defenses of the middle title had he been able to KO Taylor, the fighter who threw him out of the middleweight division, and who turned out to be quite stoppable afterwards...

So, too bad Hopkins wasn't made of the same cloth as Gennady !

Nearly everything you've said is theoretical with GGG. And the reason is...because, he hasn't done much and is no rush to. That's just the facts. He is being compared to fighters who have actually built a solid legacy by challenging themselves. That's why I "keep bringing up the cloth thing." The moment he loses, people will be off the bandwagon. That invincibility aura will vanish just like that. We've seen it time and time again. He just hasn't been challenged at 160. And that's OK...he's really good and the division is relatively weak (not his fault). But, until he actually fights someone who is considered a threat, we won't know how far he could go. The eye test will only tell you so much.

I think Lara gives him problems. And it's not because he will "run" all night. Lara can also punch and is quite accurate. He's not a 1 punch KO guy. But, it doesn't take being that to produce a cut(s) or close an eye(s). Degale, Bute, both Dirrells and Badou Jack I see giving GGG a tough night. IMO, his biggest challenges are at 168, right now.

Nah, I will still be a fan. He's a beast and brings it and fights like a fighter should fight (imho). The same way as I'm a bit of a fan of guys like Mercer and Bert Cooper. They're always ready to rumble and you know that you're going to get a fight. Even if they lost some, it doesn't remove that warrior heart.

I think that he may actually go up to 168 for a few after he unifies. We may see him vs Degale and Ramirez yet. Maybe even against Ward @ 168 sometime, if there's anything left over from Kovalev's bombs.

If GGG become Undisputed, then no name is a Good name. He will accomplish domination of 160 & that should be the end game for any Champion in any division, it rarely happens.

Wade is no joke, there is a good chance he will be the first fighter to stop GGG 15-0-0-0 (KO 15) title streak world record, derailing the KO streak might be the real sign that GGG had reached his ceiling :think

If GGG can reach 16-0-0-0 (KO 16) in title fights that shows he is still in his prime & still surging :toney

This is simply not true. Young 160 Hopkins was a KO machine...

Jacobs has the better single win between the two of them...
