I'm very familiar with Leonard. I watched the Hagler and Hearns fights the night they aired live. He was an amazing fighter. The total package.

Debatable. But even if that were true, 160 is a Shi'ite division. What's so impressive about being the best of a bad lot?

I have to disagree with you here. Bumlovkin gets caught way too often for an "elite" level fighter. Especially when you consider the class of opposition he's been fighting.

Again, this directly correlates to the caliber of opposition he's been facing. Lets see if that trend holds once he's been in the ring with a few "A" list guys...

Again, this directly correlates to the caliber of opposition that Bumlovkin has consistently faced...

To me It looks more like he's a shameless, undignified, mentally ill, agenda driven clown, but he's probably all of the above.

See this is much better than saying "you're an idiot" etc

I think 160 is alright, I'm not going to lie and say it's an amazing division but I still think there are plenty of good fights there. I'd say it's harsh calling them a bad lot though.

He gets caught when fighting guys who go into their shell a bit, I think he lets them have more chances to hit him to open them up more (more evident in the Murray fight). He said before that's what he does and I'm inclined enough to believe him - but understand others wouldn't.

Who would you have from 154-168 currently as A list out of interest? He won't go down to 154 but I figure someone from there may step up

Ok, maybe not a "bad lot" but Bumlovkin has yet to face a top guy @ 160 - and I don't buy all the "he's being ducked" business. If his promoter puts the right deal on the table then they can get one of the top guys @ 160 in the ring. It's just easier, more profitable and safer to keep knocking over the HBO sanctioned TOMATO CANs.

I'm inclined to believe that a properly schooled prize fighter doesn't abandon his training in the middle of a fight for the sake of "putting on a show". Besides Bumlovkin's obvious defensive liabilities, he also lacks an inside game.

Lara is a live dog @ 160 IMO. He has the style to give Bumlovkin problems. Alvarez @ 155 is a 60/40 fight in Canelo's favor IMO. Jacobs is a 50/50 fight, IMO. Jack and Degale both hand him an "L" @ 168...

Well, your boy Jacobs has the regular WBA belt so he can push for that fight. Saunders has now decided he is happy with the fight but not until summer. The Wade fight blows, but the IBF have a habit of having sucky mandatories.

I'd like to see Lara have a fight at 160 actually, there's nothing for him at 154. Fight a contender at 160 and then chase the fight...no real point doing it without a win at 160 if you ask me. I like Jacobs but think he'll get splattered as soon as a big shot lands. Degale would be an interesting fight too, would be the best technical boxer GGG has had to face but Degale tends to take his foot off the gas too much.

I'm being optimistic and hoping he fights Canelo-Saunders-Jacobs (in any particular order). I think they're 3 solid fights

That's been the case ever since the Feds put the then President of the IBF in the Big House. No more shenanigans with IBF rankings - like what goes on in the WBC/A. If you wanna get highly ranked in the IBF then you must FIGHT. If you wanna wear the IBF belt then you must FIGHT your mandatory. No more BSing. This is why most of the big names in boxing don't wear an IBF belt...

Personally I don't see the need for Lara to fight someone else @ 160 prior to taking the Bumlovkin fight. Lara is as credible as anyone on Bumlovkin's resume and is damn sure more proven than the next TOMATO CAN Bumlovkin is set to knock over. If you ask me, Lara should be next if a Canelo fight doesn't materialize.

I beg to differ. Go back and look at the Lemieux fight. I don't ever recall Bumlovkin looking so timid. Now, in addition to Lemiuex's punching power, add handspeed, a good jab, good footwork and a height and reach advantage. Maybe Bumlovkin isn't so eager to commit to those big shots when a package like what Jacobs presents is standing in front of him. Too bad we'll never get to see because Bumlovkin is too busy knocking over his HBO sanctioned TOMATO CANs.

Perhaps but I don't recall seeing that in the Bute fight...

If Canelo fight doesn't go through and he agree BJS in summer, I totally wouldn't be opposed to the Lara fight

He fought cautiously but that goes back to my point that he can fight a more defensive fight should he choose to. I think he'd employ the same tactics against Jacob, just time him working off the jab. Not sold Jacobs can outbox him and I think GGG has the better chin, so just struggling to agree with you there. But hey, Jacobs has that belt so can push for the fight whenever he likes

Ha, never watched his fight against Bute! Was basing it on past performances so I assume he's fixed that up

Yes, Bumlovkin was more defensive minded but Lemieux was still catching him cleanly. If a guy as uncoordinated as Lemieux can catch him cleanly with the frequency that he did then I think a guy like Jacobs can give Bumlovkin some *real* problems. People go on about Bumlovkin's alleged "boxing" skills but, to be totally honest, outside of his punching power - I have yet to see anything extraordinary out of this guy. Like I said, he isn't the second coming of Ray Leonard [and yes, I understand Leonard is a different type of fighter]. Well schooled? Certainly. Unbeatable? Certainly not. I think there are probably more than a few 154lb'ers who are up and coming that would give Bumlovkin a proper boxing lesson once they've had time to incubate..

Bumlokvin isn't a real fighter. He's a reality show diva who likes to put on a "big drama show"...

That's because you forgot to wipe the s**t from your eyes, assclown.

What i saw is a special fighter able to adapt so well to every style he faces that he hardly EVER loses rds.

Of all the 16 fighters he defeated since being champion, only 2 managed to win 2 rds or more.

That's simply incredible at 34. :hi:
