Yeah and who were those earlier fights against ?? Matthew Macklin, Martin Murray, Geale, Wade and all the other C level mediocrities he bashed up, funny how as soon as GGG got in the ring with B level opponents (Brook, Jacobs, Canelo) he instantly looked slower, less powerful and one dimensional, funny that.

Still beat a top guy in the division. His shot is apparently better than most guys' prime.

Hes just not peak and he's starting to run into much better competition than he had to face in his prime. SD, Canelo and Jacobs would have given him the same problems in his prime anyway. Those guys didn't allow him to take breaks and set up his power shots.

They called Marvin Hagler washed up at 32-33 and I would think that GGG is an exceptional fighter who at 37 is showing signs of physical decline. Shot? Unless they've changed the definition. Hardly. Matthew Saad Muhummad was a 'shot' fighter after the second Qawi loss by stoppage. That was a 'shot' fighter.

GGG is not at the top of his game for sure but I doubt he's shot, maybe he just had a bad day vs a good opponent.

HEs 37 YEARS OLD!!! Hes not the fighter he was 3 year ago never mind when he was 30. You can see it in his output. He throws slow combinations and doesnt throw them in quick succession unless its just a quick 1,2,3. He paces himself and relies on his power more than ever. He will get beat now by anyone with speed and movement.

No it's not funny, take that tinfoil hat off and accept fighters slow down as they age.

These idiots grasp onto the idea that GGG is some kind of fountain of youth so they can discredit his career. He's been sporting a dad body for a few years now. They refuse to let him age, so they can say he was never that good to begin with. Bunch of pathetic fools with no integrity whatsoever.

It's too bad so many people ducked him in his prime. Canelo would rather give up the belt than fight GGG and waited for him to age. We all know that even when he was past his best, he still beat a prime Canelo twice. Nobody would favor Canelo against GGG 5 years ago, but have no problem saying Canelo would knock out GGG today. So what changed? Father time.

You've got to put things into perspective. RJJ who some consider one of the greatest of all time was getting put to sleep at around the same age. Golovkin hasn't even touched the canvas yet and is still facing the best fighters in the division.

No he's not what he was.

But he's certainly not a shot fighter.

He's a master boxer you should watch the fight again. Allot of those punches didn't land and were blocked or avoided.

Whilst landing some seriously hurtful punches.

Ironic how GGG fan boys claimed Floyd was ducking a fight with GGG when he was in his late 30's

If this version of GGG could make 154, the Floyd that beat Canelo would school him as well

He has gone older for sure (who can defy that) but he is not shot, just had a tough fight.

Just got a W in a razor close action fight against a solid mid-top 10 opponent. Ironically, on paper probably his second best win.

What has SD done to indicate that he would give GGG problems in his prime.

Golovkin has dispatched many SD level opponents who were in the top 10 of the division when he bested them. People have very short term memory.
