Why not just fight each other? :nusenuse: We are over three quarters deep into the year already, with neither having fought since last September & November respectively. No top ranked middleweights are willing to step in with Golovkin for short money on short notice to replace Canelo, and no top ranked light heavyweights are willing to step in with Beterbiev, period, under any circumstances. Instead of settling for mismatches to squash the likes of Vanes Martirosyan and Joe Fournier in what ultimately will prove to be anticlimaxes that leave nobody on the planet satisfied (except for perhaps Vanes & Joe, and only because of how very handsomely their pockets will be lined as remuneration for the brutality they will suffer) why not just square off against each other? Feared-and-widely-avoided-European-former-amateur-star mano a feared-and-widely-avoided-European-former-amateur-star mano?

Beterbiev has the edge in brawn (though Golovkin, for a 160lber, is bull-strong and could probably defeat a lot of ranked light heavies in arm wrestling), while Golovkin is the more skilled (although Beterbiev is an efficient destroyer and had quite a nice amateur pedigree). Beterbiev is probably the straight-up harder-hitting, but Golovkin might arguably pack more pop in a p4p sense - and has the better chin, again in p4p terms.

I think it'd be fascinating, personally. They fought the bulk of their amateur careers at 75kg and 81kg respectively, although GGG in his teens fought at low as light welter and Beterbiev shortly before his pro debut was dabbling at Cruiser. I don't think it would be such an insane disadvantage in size as many believe. If you ever wanted Golovkin vs. Ward, this shouldn't be something you dismiss. Ward only made the climb in his twilight after making his bones at super middle, but he was always more of a natural light heavyweight...and he was probably a vastly superior one to Beterbiev.

Pipe dream scenario, but I'd love to see it, and I believe GGG could perhaps outbox Beterbiev.

Not sure how he'd handle the power of Artur, but I'd sure love to find out.

Well, yes, and vice-versa, right? Just a fascinating match-up, IMO.

...and you're right, one that we are never gonna see. Too good to come true.

They are both without opponents because both guys are scared to death of a live body at the moment.
GGG has BJS problems that he refuses to address to so called "collec all de belts" and the mention of anyone from the southern of the United States fighting him is dismissed by his trainer/enabler Sanchez.

As for Beterbiev, he is offered shot after shot at any title of his choosing just to "get injured" and not do anything for months on out. I believe he has the Cuban disease where he finally got over hundred thousand dollars and can't seem to find the motivation to fight good anymore.

Both these guys deserve each other, hell this fight should happen and they should knock each other out, get a draw, and retire.

Yep! It's the kind of match-up that, if it materialized out of nowhere tomorrow, wouldn't get any mainstream US coverage, but it would have die hard fans the world over in a mini-frenzy of joyous proportions. They are two guys laboring to find opponents at this time, so it would be truly incredible.

I'd probably favor Beterbiev, ever so slightly, as I always tend to favor the naturally bigger guys when someone is moving up 2 classes (and usually even 1 class), but I've been proven wrong many times with that outlook over the years, and I do believe Gennady is more skilled, more talented, and more polished.

On a semi-related note, I still believe Kovalev would defeat both Beterbiev and Golovkin.

That's a very jaded perspective. I've been called a "hater" (or at the very least an overly harsh critic) of Beterbiev and even I think you're being way too hard on him there. Guy is being ducked by at least a dozen name fighters in his weight (and even some no-names who couldn't possibly dream of ever landing such a payday otherwise).

As for GGG, did he tell BJS to get tied up with his leftovers in June? Nah? Yeah, didn't think so.

Have you not even been following the situation for both fighters develop over the last month, dude? Come on, this is some MVC! level trolling, you can't just victim-blame a couple of the most ducked guys in the sport just because they're EE. :nonono That's beneath you, Willie.

    Victim blame?!
Have you read any of those Deontay Wilder threads on this forum?
How about those questioning Terence Crawford's opponent choice.
Same crowd that defend Povetkin call Errol Spence a PED user.

I'm just balancing out the Yang with some Yin.

Then go attack some of the froth mouthed AJ fanboys then, why take it out on GGG?

Horn is an excellent opponent, but Crawford's resume to date is rather weak.

I said Povetkin was a doper, I'm pretty sure I said Canelo was, I was right, and I was right, AJ is too, as is Spence Jr. And will be proved right once again.:ggg

Why not SOB Ward vs. Joshua? SOB said he would easily beat Joshua, said he would fight him.....................SOB also said he would knock out both Vitali and Vladimir Klitschko! So, let SOB go up to heavyweight like he has promised for years! Should we just get rid of weight divisions? How about a flyweight fighting a heavyweight? Why not, a figher can't fight unless he keeps going up in weight in every fight according to some. Forget Hagler, Monzon and the rest who fought their entire careers in their weight class. Some want Golovkin to fight much bigger fighters because they want him to lose any way they can get him to lose.

I'm taking it out on Golovkin because he does some ducking too but he constantly gets a pass. He has never had to work hard in the eyes of some people like they require of others and when he is asked to challenge himself his defenders come out to totally dismiss any notion.
When he was asked to fight Ward there was an excuse, but he wanted to fight Mayweather.
When he could have fought Chavez Jr., which would have been a cake walk ,he went off to fight Monroe.
When he could have fought any other 160 fighter in the world ,he fought Kell Brook.
Now he won't even fight Saunders?! GTFOH , Golovkin has NOT lived up to the hype ever.
In fact YOU tell me whats the difference between Crawford beating Gamboa and Lomachenko beating Rigondeaux?
It was two massive guys beating up on skilled fighters but only one gets the praise who really had everything in his favor down to the weight class.

AJ is naturally muscular because of genetics, not PEDs, and Spence Jr. is a Texan, all those boys are large as **** from Texas. Also

Why would he want to move up to a division he hasn't fought in to face a stylistic nightmare for him that no one gives a damn about watching, its a lose-lose, when he can drag up the most popular and most hated fighter up to his division and most likely win by stoppage and maybe rake in a ton of dough afterward as the man who stopped the reign of the notorious Money May? Its pretty ****ing elementary if you ask me.

GGG-Floyd is the very definition of a win-win. Money talks.:deal:

Chris Eubank Jr. lost his pen, so on short notice Brook who is every bit as popular in the UK stepped in, he was fighting in the UK, Hearn offered up the bucks, Money Talks.:deal:

Saunders admitted he was ducking GGG before, but I'll admit, yeah GGG is ducking BJS now, and for good reason, Saunders 2.0 is a nightmare for him.

There is no difference between Crawford beating Gamboa and Loma beating Rigo, but why doesn't anyone want to give Loma credit for it then? If Bud gets cred from Yuri, then Loma should get equal cred for Rigo.

AJ is roided to the gills, don't try to bull**** a bull***ter.:deal:

    I must of missed it so could you please get me up to date regarding these;

"shot after shot of any title he chooses"

For Beterbiev, I honestly must have missed them.
