I'm not proposing this (pie in the sky) matchup because I want Golovkin to lose, Farmy...if they fought I'd pick Golovkin over Beterbiev. :nonono

I'm proposing it because Golovkin has fought guys as big and talented as Beterbiev in the amateurs, natural super middle and light heavyweight elites, beating them and kayoing some of them with headgear on.

Hell, at one point a while ago we had a Kovalev vs. Golovkin thread and even that was close to 50-50 (which is crazy IMO).

This fight is an easy one to call. The fight goes all 15 rounds. In fact the absolute pure energy exuding from the ring in the form of raw punching power combined with elite level boxing IQ, and testosterone brings back 15 rounds fights just so we can have 3 more rounds of this amazing spectacle. The poor clean up crew will have one hell of a night cleaning up the wetspots from every chair in the arena ticketed out to a female as well as Oscar De La Hoya. Careful not to cut themselves on all the shards of glass from the jaws of every fighter in the front rows who found themselves both lucky, and unlucky to be there.

No reason to fight Beterbiev, he has plenty of middleweights if he can get them into the ring. Golovkin has been trying to fight Saunders of years, so he hopes to finally get the fight with Saunders, that's the fight he wants most, forget El Pollo and his owner Fishnets!

That's just it, though, Farmy - he can't, just like Artur can't get anybody to willingly exercise their mandatory (or temporarily bestowed deputized mandatory) status at 175.

No one is ducking GGG anymore, there’s at least 4 quality opponents that wanna fight him. He needs to take care of his mandatories or fight Billy joe soon coz this cherry picking he is tryna do atm is a bad look.

In regards to Beterbiev that’s crazy what the other fighters are doing to him, the IBF needs to do something to ensure he gets fights. I saw them do this with Rigo, he needs name and Shane these fighters, not to mention just fight anyone even a scrub so they can’t strip you of the belt for inactivity.

Nobody wants that Beterbiev work - shameful really, don't call yourself a fighting man if you're going to avoid people

Who? Realistically, who did what Vanes did and said "I don't care how much the purse is shortened (by necessity because of it being so close now), just give me the fight, I'll take it for short"?

I'm pretty sure Derevyanchenko hasn't. Nor any other top middleweight.

Hell, even Spike walked away from what he considered an insulting low-ball offer and he isn't even anybody's first choice. (even including the Irish fans!)

Forget that date, just reschedule and fight Billy joe. They are only restricted on budget because of that date, I for one would rather not see GGG fight if he takes on a Vanes or Spike.

Dude what do you mean "just reschedule and fight BJS"?

Are you proposing that BJS would also scrap his date with Murray in June in the bargain? Or is GGG supposed to wait until a few months AFTER that fight, meaning he will have sat on the shelf for a year or more? Which of those sounds fair & reasonable?

He said he would. BJS and warren said they are willing to fight GGG in July.

So what about Murray, is he chopped liver? Is he going to accept step-aside money, or does he get winner? (meaning potentially a GGG rematch that nobody asked for?)

Beterbiev outpoints Golovkin at this point. Probably drops him along the way and possibly stops him.

I believe prime Golovkin would closely outpoint Beterbiev though.

Beterbiev is a nasty stylistic matchup for Golovkin I think, especially this older, slower version of GGG. If he can turn it into a slugfest on the inside things could go sour for Gena. Artur is bursting out of his seams at LHW and GGG is a middling sized MW. I guess Golovkin could fight off the jab and win that way but the increased dimensions of Beterbiev make even that plan difficult.
