Given GGG's style and age, a move up to 175 against Beterbiev is most likely a KO loss for Golovkin. Typically speaking moving up an original weight class late or relatively late in one's career is a recipe for disaster. Bob Foster moved up from LHW to HW and failed miserably. Erik Morales, a natural FW moved up to LW and was a disaster. Jose Napoles moved up from WW to MW and was brutalized. Chavez Sr. tried moving from LW to WW and got spanked.

That said, there are exceptions and we could of course list them. But you would find that a lot of those guys moving up successfully have either been busted for PED's, fought guys who were moving up in weight too, and of course you just have your guys like Armstrong, Duran and Pacquiao who just did it anyways despite the size disadvantage. But consider the esteem those guys are held in and that will indicate how difficult it is to be moving up in weight like that. And neither of those guys were old when they went on their assaults through the higher weight classes. When Duran beat Leonard it seemed like he had been around forever, but that was only 3 days after turning 29.

    Two points:
    1) If "supposedly" according to experts here, Beterbiev would trash, moop the floor with Canelo,
how in earth would be compettitive then Golovkin?
    2) Dream scenario, GGG lack the cojones that Canelo has (he is the #1 diva in boxing, remember) and its unthinkable
that he goes north to 168, lets no say to 175.

That is the key Rummy. GGG could box around him with his excellent footwork but it only takes one solid punch from Beterbiev to send GGG dancing on ***** Street
